Worried about my boars

You are doing well,ive only had experience of guinea pig in the last 4 years,but i had a steep learning curve,after my first two boars had a big fight at six months old .one knocked the other ones teeth out ! that was a rude awakening to boars !

Oh my goodness @eileen ! That’s awful! So scary! This is new to me and also before Joey died my two boys got on so well! So I’ve been worried from day one bonding him with the new piggie Cookie. Also we rescued Cookie and he had never lived with another guinea pig so I don’t know if that makes a difference. Thanks for the reassurance x
 
With the measurements Off the top of my head, I don’t think the Midwest is big enough for a boar pair. Definitely look to increase if you can.

Thank you. I’m hoping to try to join 2 Midwest together and make it work that way. Will be a bit of a squeeze but can just about do it I think. Fingers crossed!

I’ve merged your threads so that all the posts are in one place. It makes it easier for us and you to track what advice you’ve been given,
 
Bonding sows was stressful for a while and I believe that boars can be more difficult.
When I bonded my 2 pairs of sows the oldest and the youngest were fine.
The middle 2 needed to sort out their place.
There was teeth chattering, chin offs, scuffles, minor fur loss,.
It did cause me panic and stress while they sorted themselves out but they did settle and become good friends.
So - keep asking questions. We will reassure you and support you as much as is needed.
The forum was a great support to me with bonding.
I think your boys sound ok - their behaviour sounds normal to me.

Thank you so much. You have no idea how good it is to hear that. Almost shead a tear of relief. My anxiety is through the roof right now. Think all the teeth chattering is sending me over the edge! Lol! Never realised how hard this would all be! Really appreciate you taking the time to reassure me, this forum is my saviour right now! Don’t know what I would do without you all 😊
 
I got my piggies 2 new beds and the last 3 days they have been loving life together and have been so settled and lovely! Of course now tonight they are fighting over the same bed and there was a lot of angry teeth chattering so I stepped in and then distracted them with some food and now they seem fine again! It always scares me when they do this after a lovely few days! Anyway, it was cute while it lasted...E5279852-5B8D-4BC7-934F-1538A2A1AFAF.webp

Don’t panic unless blood is drawn.
It seems to be in the nature of piggies to want what the other has be it a snuggle, a tunnel, a lettuce leaf. This is true even if there is more than one of everything
