Worried About My New Piggies!

Evening all!

I finally picked up my two sows yesterday morning but I'm a little bit concerned about them.

I put them in a new hutch I bought yesterday and thought I'd just leave them alone to settle. They both ran straight into their hay and hid, which I obviously expected. I checked them this morning before I went to work and they hadn't touched their food or water. Checked them again this evening and they still haven't eaten or had water

I'm now panicking that something isn't right. I've just gone a bought an indoor cage and ordered some fleece, should I bring them in a see if they perk up or leave them alone? I'm worried!

Were they living outside before you got them?
Maybe all of the new sights and smells are a bit overwhelming, but do try not to panic.
How old are they?
As long as they have access to hay and clean water they will be eating something I am sure.
Honestly our whole family laughs now about how paranoid we were that first night we bought the pigs home.
If possible make sure the pellet bowl is near the bedroom and maybe try covering the open section of the hutch with a fleece blanket so they feel more secure and enclosed.
Are there poos in the cage?
If so, and if more keep appearing then they are definitely eating something, even if it isn't obvious.
I would give them a few more days before making any more dramatic changes, but getting them set up indoors before full on Winter weather arrives is a good idea.

Mine where like this too and as soon as I put a fleece over the cage they came out and ate/drank

If they've been hiding in the hay they will have been munching through that most probably. I find pigs rarely go hungry but are very talented when settling into a new home at eating secretly!
