Worried about neutering

That's great news! I hope his eating picks up. I bet he'll be happy to get home :)

He's hooooome :) He's had a munch on a bit of hay, some pellets (tipped the bowl up?) and a bit of sweetcorn. Just peeked his head out and he's started munching on some lettuce so I'm thinking he's gonna be ok :) Also spotted a little poo whoopee (never thought I'd be so excited about poo..)
He's been chattering away to his neighbours since he got back, I think he just needed a familiar environment as he was very sorry for himself at the vets and wouldn't really move. Got some critical care just in case.

Aww, yay! Archie was a bit like that when I got him back...he was quite subdued until I put him back in his cage and the girls came to say hi, he then went and fell asleep in his food bowl rolleyes:)). I'm glad Frazzles op went ok and he's eating etc now. Soon he'll be able to get a lady friend or two and it will all be worth it :)

I'm round my OH's now, think I owe it to him as haven't been to see him in a week rolleyes piggies are v time consuming! Frazzle seemed to be settling ok. I've put my mum on poo watch and she's been instructed to give me poo updates :)) Two so far.

Doesn't your other half know piggies come first? :))

He does now! :p
'Are you coming over tonight?'
'No, got to give Terry his medicine in the morning'

'Are you coming over tonight?'
'No, got to get Frazzle ready for his op'

etc, etc :))

When Jo was done a couple of weeks back, I text Mum the next day saying 'how many poos are there?!'

She text back

'13. No wait. 14'
:)) :))

Glad it went well hun x

I got a text at 11 last night to tell me he'd done 25 :o
He has done a lot. A few are small and weird shaped but the rest are nice and healthy so I don't think I should worry? He's also active and running around, coming to say hello and eating alright so he seems to be doing ok and I think he's forgiven me! Now just need to make sure the wound is ok til he's fully healed!

Can't wait til he can have a wife :) He's gonna be so happy.
Frazzle poo!

:)) When Archie was done he was pooping as soon as I got him back in the cage :)) It's good you don't have to worry now. I'm glad he's doing well.

Frazzle went back for a check up tonight and he's doing well :) All looks good, no lumps or pain for now! So he's on the right track woop.

I have a question - Just looked at Fraz's manly bits and noticed the 'glue' they used to seal him up is starting to come away - is this normal?
It's been a week and a half since the op.

Yes that sounds normal.

As long as the actual wound is red, sore or weeping, and he is himself. Then it is nothing to worry about, all the glue on the surface will eventually come away. :)

I need help! I dunno if his winky's just having an off day but it's .. out. and it doesn't look too right! His bum area's wet too, and his back legs which isn't normal. Any ideas? I'm trying to get a picture but it's hard to hold him on his bum (which he hates) and take a pic. :( He's sitting nice and still on my knee though.

He's eating, pooping, drinking fine but it just doesn't look right. Not sure if I can just er 'pop it back in' ? He doesn't like me touching it tho. Not sure what's happening with the wetness either.. Maybe I should cut all his hair off? :(

I'm going to ring the vets tomorrow morning for advice and if neccessary take him in. I don't think it's serious but it def needs sorting..

is he on antibiotics? since the op? or was he on them for a few days?

is it diarrhea poop he has? if so stop all veg for a few days may also be worth starting him on probiotic until his poop has hardened up, if its not poop its poss he has a water infection so will need septrin antibiotics,,,, how does the wound site look? and feel? any lump/s under the skin?

and has he lost any weight? have you been weighing him?
sorry for all the Qs x

also do you have any vasiline to rub on his willy ? to stop it drying up sorry lol

He wasn't ever on antibiotics after the op, just given a pain relief injection for recovery and left to heal. It's two weeks since his op tomorrow and up until now he's been fine. No wetness, healing well, as you can see from my post on 23/02/11. His poo is fine, fully formed, right size etc. It's just his back legs are wet from wee, and I'm worried he's going to be sore. It doesn't look sore but obviously if it stays there it will be (urine scald). The tip of his willy is out, and looks as though it may be stuck that way, haven't tried putting it back in. Not sure if a pig bath is the best option? Loosen things up a bit and wash the back legs?

you could give him a bath and if you cant pop it back like this try putting some vasiline on it and try popping it back in like this thats what i had to do with a boar post neutering op, if it still wont go back in take him the vets, also its poss he has a water in fection too this will explain the wetness also have you looked to see if any hay or hair or boar glue is stopping it from going back in? x

Thank you. How would the infection cause him to 'wet himself'? :(
