Bit worried about poor little Kreacher travelling so far today, we are the middle bit of his piggy train from Ayrs to Northampton... as I've never met him and he is a dental piggy I dont really know how to check he's his usual self after his 2 hour train trip then 2 to 3 hour car trip... I'll be straight on with offering him some cool water and a syringe feed and some freshly grated veg when he arrives!
I think he is travelling with some grated cucumber and carrot anyway but we didnt package him for travel so I hope he's prepared for the heat further south... 350 miles during a heatwave for a poorly piggy is a big worry... I dont thing any of us guessed it would be so hot today when we planned his piggy train :(
Thanks @Wiebke for re-posting all the hot weather care guides, it will help us be extra vigilant about poor little Kreacher on his journey and when he stops off at our house on his way to TEAS!

After some consultation about the temperature, a refrigerated bottle of water has been added to his carrier at Carlisle station so he can lie next to it if he wants to keep cool for the next stage of his journey!

I have found that most long distance trains are temperature controlled; it is the stations and changes that are generally the problem.

If a piggy is staying away from a frozen bottle it is not overheated while an overheated piggy will plaster itself to any source of cold. ;)

Our bit is by car, Carlisle to Liverpool, so I thought making a cool spot for him in his carrier might be safer just in case! I'd hate there to be a traffic jam and the car starts getting hot and nothing we could do... awful weather for piggy travel, and @Merab's Slave 's piggies are making a long distance trip tomorrow too... I'm sure she's well prepared though!

Hope all is going well and it's not to hot in the car for little Kreacher.
Hot weather is always a worry when travelling with fur babies.
Fingers crossed @Merab's Slave for your journey tomorrow, that your piggies manage to stay cool and no delays.xx

Thanks @rhymer
I have a plan for the journey on Thursday which includes avoidance of motorways, frequent stops, freezer blocks and cucumber as well as the air conditioning on.
