At the weekly check I noticed Velvet's teeth were uneven. Two days ago it was just one top incisor that was uneven so I thought that she had just chipped it and everything would be fine but today they look like this. Do I need to take here to the vet? Last week they were lovely and straight.

Is could still be a bit of damage that takes time to even itself out. I thought Jemima had teeth problems once and took her to Northampton where Simon told me he thought it was just a bit of damage. He tidied them up but was of the opinion she would have been fine in another week or two anyway

OK I'll wait a week and see. She is still eating OK, hasn't lost any weight either and she is still her normal feisty self and putting the other 4 in their place. I have been monitoring her over the last couple of days. I am away this weekend with a friend so will see what she's like on Sunday when I get back. Thanks @Lady Kelly.

I would recommend to have them seen promptly next week as soon the dent is getting any worse; teeth can overgrow within the matter of of days.

Always make sure that you can step in with syringe feed when and if necessary.

I am away from Sat am to Sun pm and my OH is in charge. He wouldn't know one end of a syringe from the other! On your recommendation @Wiebke I have made an appointment for Tuesday morning which is the earliest appointment I could make with the tooth cavy savvy vet. When I get home I will weigh her and check her teeth and see where we go from there.

I would observe how she eats too. Jemima had no problem with her appetite, picking up food or eating it but when Isobel had teeth problems it was obvious as she kept flicking her head to the side while eating

l would get your vet to dremel them (not clip)

Just got back from the vet and Rachel the vet said that Velvet had just chipped her teeth. She had a good feel under the chin and couldn't feel anything and a good look in Velvet's mouth and couldn't see any spurs on any of the teeth or any damage to the tongue. I just have to keep an eye out for anything like sloping teeth and stuff. So that's a relief!
