Worried McMac has fleas

Hey, my boyfriends mum house is infested with fleas (don't ask) and they have pretty much chased my boyfriend out of the house so is having to come stay with me. You should see his ankles :(

When he got in I took his clothes to put in the wash and I made him have a shower.. I didn't want McMac catching anything. But I have noticed McMac scratching every so often and I am worried I might have missed one :(

What could I do? I tried looking through his fur and couldn't find anything. Is it just me?
 
I think you could just be being paranoid because of the flea's, however if you are concerned a vet visit will be the best thing. x
 
I hope it's just me. I hate fleas and stuff. Just the thought of them makes me feel itchy. I will keep checking him and if I can't see anything I guess it's just my paranoia
 
I would hot wash all your boyfriends clothes, hoover everywhere, change McMacs bedding etc and hoover all the corner of his hutch /cage to get every last bit up, then I would bathe him in some guinea flea shampoo, just to be safe :)
 
I can see why you are worried as I would be too. I hope he and your new baby are fine.
 
Guinea pigs don't carry fleas, they only take opportunist bites as their coats are difficult for the fleas to burrow into.. I feel for you, I hate fleas, and once got changed in a bath just to avoid being bitten... I suggest you ask your vet for a flea spray to spray your rooms just in case xx
 
unfortunately they can be carried on clothes and would happily live in the guineas house/bedding though. :(
 
Right I will do a clean out today, give it a good clean up. And I will wash my bedding. I have laminate in my room so that makes it alot easier for cleaning.
