for a few weeks my pig "piggy" has been really quiet, normally he isking of the hutch always 1st for food always out his hutch 1st and generally the loudest! recently he has not wanted to come out, is very quiet and just cant be bothered :( he is still eating but i broke my scales so got to get a new set later just to check his weight is ok, he is under 1 but not sure exactly as he is a rescue piggy

anyone have any ideas before i take him to vets, dont like the vets to much as they really are rubbish with guineas
I'm wondering if i should bring him indoors for a few nights?
any help would be fab please guys x>>

ps. he is the pig on top of the pile of grass in my sig pic - he didnt want to know the grass pile atm

i wouldn't say it'd be fair to rely on anyone's opinion from the forum as they can't see the pig, and as all you know is that he's not eating they may diagnose him with the wrong thing.
if a pig's not eating it's a sign that there is something wrong so my advice would be to either get him to the vets (which you should do anyway) or check him for more symptoms that you can describe on here.

There are quite a few things that can cause weight loss. You really need to see a vet, preferably one with experience with guinea pigs. Make an appointment with that in mind!

If there are no clear symptoms, make sure your vet does at least an urine test to check for things like diabetes...
