Hi all, I know lil piggies are prone to dental problems and I have just noticed Gollum doesn't seem to be closing his mouth properly. He is still eating, drinking etc. Doesn't seem in pain or discomfort. Advice appreciated.

My piggy was in same situation and was diagnosed with macilusson which has now disformed his jaw. I didnt realise anything was wrong untill he lost alot of weight. Due to this he now has to have dental surgery every 6 weeks the rest of his life and cannot eat hard food. Get him to a vet before its to late. I am now dealing with a disabled piggy who needs special care. Aloung with the £50 vet bills every 6 weeksx

I also have a boy who needs monthly dentals and his problem was only discovered by accident as he ate, drank and pooped normally. A month after I got him he just started chewing constantly everything he could get his toofies on. The noise of him chewing on the cage bars at night drove me crazy. Took him to the vet and sure enough his jaw is misaligned so the teeth are not going to wear down naturally. I'd take Gollum to have his teeth checked just in case and not wait until he has stopped eating. With my boy, because we caught it before he stopped eating he has in fact never stopped eating and it is now 2 years later!
