i weighed my week old guinea pigs today elliott weighed 74g benson 69g and samson 60g i seen that someone else on here put there babies weighed 112g and 113g at 3 days old. The boys are constantly suckling chloe and theyve even started eating the fresh veg and hay what am i doing wrong? xx:(

In another post it says that babies should weight between 70-100g, but slightly under is nothing to worry about. I'm sure your babies will be fine as long as they are suckling fine. I'm no expert though. Just keep an eye on them and weigh them daily. Maybe someone else will be able to give you some better advice. I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong. Hope this helps. Good luck with them. :)

Have you checked Chloe's nipples? She could have blocked nipples or breast infection (mastitis) which can impact on the milk flow. Mummy may have an infection somewhere else in the body. Best have her seen by a vet. The pups weights' are not great, but they are nowhere dangerously low.

I have posted on your other thread on how to supplement the pups' diet with stale wholemeal bread cubes soaked in full fat goats milk.

I have also recommended to weigh pups and - if you have to suspect illness - mummy daily for the first two to three weeks to monitor their food intake. It is the best way of seeing whether they are thriving or not.
