Hi
Would like peoples thoughts on too much Baytril? Could this make her sore again? Reason i ask is that she seems to have taken a little step backwards as over the last 24hrs have noticed a little squeaking again when she goes to the toilet?

Wondering if she has been on Baytril or Metacam too long now?

Any thoughts please?

I think it's time you requested an Xray - this happened with my Patrick he wouldn't even be finished his course and his squeaks returned with Baytril and Septrin we're 9 months with this problem and now he now has 4 bladder stones as well as pain when urinating and passing blood, if there's no stones present I would advise a culture, I don't allow it to be took from the bladder by a needle on both occasions I have used a free cache sample (we're waiting for another culture result we think Patrick has a antibiotic resistant bug. You want to find out if there is an infection there and if it is antibiotic resistant - the lab will do a sensitivity test to tell you the best Antibiotic to use.

I agree, i would have an xray to check her bladder, this can be done without sedation or aneasthetic. Flinstones is the expert on bladder stones. Poor little Patrick isnt well with them.
Your piggie cant be on the drugs too long, but i assume they are not working so well.

x.

Yes I understand that. That's what happened with my Patrick it does not alter my above advice, I would have an Xray to check for stones and sludge first and then a urine culture, however she does need to be off all abs for a period of time before the culture can be done otherwise it could affect the results.
