Mine are indoors at the moment and they only smell if you dont clean them out every other day! TO be honest i think once an animals starts to smell its too late and cleaning should have been done earlier!
They have a large cage etc but my house is way too small for them (only space is on the dining room table!) so they will be going outside in a week...
They will be in a sheltered place in a hutch with a hutch hugger and lots of hay and snuggly places to hide in...
Its not so much the cold but draughts and damp that are the problem... Your best bet is to double insulate a hutch big enough for all of them over the winter months dont worry about the run until it gets dryer and warmer and just make sure they are warm and dry...
I will be puting and extra layer of plywood inside the hutch to make sure draughts dont get through and an extra carpet on the front over the hutch hugger for added insulation...
