Hello, I spotted this wound on my guinea pig's leg about a week ago and I thought it might be a bite wound but it doesnt seem like it's getting better.
What could the cause be and what should I do next? Do I need to take him to a vet or there is something I can do?

Please see a vet who can give the area a proper hands-on examination.

Self-biting is generally an indication of pain/major discomfort and a good indicator that something is not right and botherirn your pig.
Hopefully all he'll need is an antibiotic. We can't replace a hands-on vet examination, nor are we qualified to.

Please save up for a vet fund as a regular part of the weekly/monthly living and housing cost for your guinea pigs. Vet cost are overall the biggest budget post in any pet's life but there is all too often no preparation made for that.
Illness and emergencies do happen; and it can cause great distress and major rows in the family. Guinea pigs are small animals that can go downhill very quickly with a serious sillness and sadly die far too often unnecessarily from something that could have been easily treated if seen promptly - and they all too often die in agony because they are not even deemed worth the cost of euthanasia. :(

Thank you all! I just realised there is a bigger wound on his stomach as well and I have no idea what caused it
I will go to the vet as soon as possible
Other than that he is still behaving normally, eating well and all

The vet examined him, checked for parasites and fungal infection and it all came negative
She told me it is just a really shallow scratch on the surface of the skin but she gave me antibiotic/antimycotic cream to apply to that area just in case
He was such a good boy 😍
