My daughter borowed a guinea pig care book from school so last night my daughter was looking through it and said 'can we get a rabbit.' I said "no we don't have room for a rabbit.' Her answer "My book says it can live with the guinea pigs.'
Sure enough guinea pigs and rabbits are friends and can live together it even says make sure the rabbit don't attack the piggie!
The other thing was all guineas enjoy being brushed why say all my sparkles hates it.
So now i've been explaining to my daughter why its not good but only because i know better. No wonder so many people do keep them together.

Yeah I agree! It was in a RSPCA book saying that you could house both of them together! The RSPCA?! I just hope it's an old book though :{

Unfortunately the RSPCA have said on their site that although a guinea pig should live with another pig and a rabbit with their own kind, that if they've lived together long enough, separating them will probably cause them to get upset?!

https://www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/pets/rabbits/company/rabbitsandguineapigs

I was a bit shocked by this! How are we supposed to get people not to do this if the RSPCA who are pretty much the authority on animal welfare say otherwise!?

I had that exact conversation with someone housing pigs an rabbits together. He said " the RSPCA site says not to spit if they've been together a while so I won't"

Grrr
