Yesterday I went veggie shopping. I got home and realized I accidentally bought Italian parsley instead of cilantro! Can piggies eat Italian parsley? If so, how much per day?

Is Italian parsley the flat-leaved kind, that looks a bit like cilantro/coriander? If so, I've occasionally given that to my pigs, though I usually get the curly parsley. Though as @Redribbon says it should be given in small amounts, it is also quite high in calcium I believe.

yes, here cilantro does not exist and italian parsley can be given, but I don't, although it contains a huge amount of vit C (cilantro 27mg and parsley 133mg!). But it contains a huge amount of calcium and oxalates; its ratio Ca: P is not good, too. Vets here don't recommend it so often. Many years ago it was considered toxic, now they know it is not, but... oxalates are dangerous (for the same reason even kale and broccoli are not suggested)
this is the typical parsley

there are also different types, with different leaves

My parsley plant throws up both curly and flat leaves. My piggies get it sometimes (they prefer the stalks to the leaves), but not much as said above.

I got my hubby to plant both kinds plus Spinach but they only get these occasionally due to high calcium etc. Only a few sprigs left in the garden though. Hurry up next Spring! End of garden veg and foraging!
