Hiya. he's okay. he did well with breakfast, then hay and has been pretty much sleeping alot today so far.

I had a look at his stitches when I cleaned him out and gave him as metacam and it looks very clean if swollen. I hate this period of watching and waiting, it freaks me out.

Thanks for asking :)

I Hope he is feeling better soon! I am sure it will be fine try thinking happy thoughts

It is an extremely good sign he is eating! :) xx...

Fingers and paws still crossed here for the wee man xx

Having a good appetite is an encouraging sign. Sleepiness in the first day or two is quite normal after an op - I call it "heal-sleeping".

I hope that the swelling will come down soon; it's so easy to fret about a piggy after an op - I've done it myself more than once!

After Mimsi had his op I was amazed at how well the wound healed. He had been opened up down his abdomen as he was meant to be getting a bladder stone removed. I'm sure Orson will be fine. Thats good he is nibbling away.

Thinking of Orson and you and sending my vibes!

Any improvements? We hope for less swelling and soreness! If we could we would send encouraging baskets of cucumber, parsley and romaine lettuce!

G_D Bless

I read your post a few days ago and have been thinking about it all the time. I do hope Orson is OK.....please keep us informed.

He seems okay in himself. I am a little worried that one of his stitches looks a little bit inflamed. He's had a little bite at them which isn't good.

I have been giving him metacam twice a day for pain - I am considering trying him without for a day to see if it stops him biting because it hurts? What do you think?

He's moving about okay, appetite good, perky and apart from this small worry he seems okay. He has the vets at 4.50pm today (usual vet) so he will know if it is a bit inflamed wont he?

Thanks for asking after him :)

I am sure that the vet will pick up on it; but otherwise, you can always point it out to him, can't you?

I am glad that Orson seems better in himself today!

I'll definitely point it out. It's entirely possible that I am being paranoid but I want to be sure.

Right neeed to get my butt off the sofa and get on. I'm skiving!

Back from the vets. He ooh-ed and ahh-ed about how good he's healing up. He did see that he has had a little bite at the one side but said it's nothing major and is all looking good.

His thoughts on the metacam were that if it hurts more he's more likely to bite it so to keep giving him metacam for about 5 days after the op.

He did say that the lady vet had been a bit concerned at his rattly breathing while operating. I said was it only under anasthetic and he said no it was before and during the op. She never mentioned it to me when doing his pre-op check. Anyway it had gone away and he was clear.

Anyway he's well and healing very nicely.

Wonderful news! I'm so glad for Orson (and for you, who have had to take care of all the worrying...) I've been checking in all day to see if you had updates. Now hopefully the only problem is gonna be waiting all six weeks until we can finally read the "orson finally with his girlies"-post :)

You must be relieved at the good bill of health that Orson has been given.
I hope that he'll be back to his old self soon!
