Today george and tiger were in there playpen doing there usual stuff.

George had a bit of a rumble which he sometimes does and tiger did his usual squeeking back which normally finishes with george sloping off to eat some hay for a bit. This time though tiger bolted away and george bit his bum and tiger squeeled loudly.

I promtly fished him out and rapped him in a fleece and gave him a cuddle he was fine straight away making lovely squeeking noises. I checked him over everywhere just to be sure he was ok and no nips / scabs anywhere and he is quite happy. I have put him in the cage for a bit and left george alone in the playpen.

Think I will leave them overnight just incase as this only happened about an hour ago and don't want to put them back together just before I go to bed.

What is the plan for tomorrow? I have a day planned doing gardening as I have people comng to help me with heavy work so can't give it a miss. I can spare a few hours first thing do I put them in playpen or cage for a bit them leave them to it?

Must stress no blood shed but was just a bit shocked that george was so mean. I had been watching them at the time but it didn't seem to be for a paticular reason as george just came out of his house rumbling and tiger was just in his laying down. Noone had anyone elses food, treats etc..

Sorry for long post, hope you get the jist!

Also was wondering if maybe george is grumpy cos his mites are back. I have seen him scratching maybe 3 times an evening not sure if this is just normal though!

oh well been too busy today to reunite them so am going to have my tea now then do it. Think I'm going to shove them in playpen as it's bigger and see how they go! :)

Seems like bad news! Put them in together and after a bit of rumbling they settled down for about five mins. Then the agression started with loud teeth chattering and george squaring up to tiger right in his face.

I then took tiger out for lap time to calm him followed by george then put them back together and they were doing light dominance behavoiur. Then one decided to fly at the other (not sure who started it) and they went for each other about 3 times before I could get to them!

Again no blood loss but this was the worse definately behaviour I have ever seen. They are now apart again & I'm at a loss!

We had a similar problem with our male piggies. We got them when they were about 3 months old and they lived together quite happily for a year or so, then the aggression started. I was at work one day when my boyfriend said that he'd heard them fighting in their hutch, he turned round and Zippy had a lump of Fuzzy's fur in his mouth. We had no option but to seperate them. We put the hutches next to each other so they could still see each other. They've now been seperate for 2 years I'm afraid. :( You may have to keep them seperately from now on.

fingers crossed. I just gave them both a bath and blowdry which they hated and then left them in a box of towels for a good 20 mins whilst I cleaned out and re-arranged the pen.

they sat huddled up with their faces next to each other looking very unhappy but never the less clinging to each other.

I have re-arranged the playpen and added different toys and hidey holes so they have different ones which they don't know as well.

All seems good they only had slight teeth chattering to begin with and george did some light rumbling but was a different noise to his normal rumbling. They are now flaked out in different hidey holes!

Wish me luck! :)

I'm gutted! Their daddy came home and the loud bang of the door started them off! they have had about 3 scuffles which turned nasty. I have just separated them again resulting in tiger biting my chest when I was trying to give him a cuddle better after he was left cowering!

Think there is no hope left :(

yes it has really upset me actually. I was nearly in tears before just after I had checked them over for injurys which luckly neither had!

I really don't know what to do as I tried everything I could think of and when both were separated all day today they only ate a bit of veg each and hardly any nuggets as were probably missing each other yet when together they can't be trusted anymore.

Tiger now seems frightened of george as when he was nusseling round for food before one of the episodes today and was outside tigers house, tiger was screaming loudly like he does when george starts to be aggresive but george wasn't doing anything!

I think possibly one more try and then that is that! Think George would like to be a lone piggie but tiger would want a new friend! That would mean two cages and don't have the space it is devastating and couldn't give either up as love them both so much even when they are mean to me or each other :(

What a shame this is cos they were getting on so well. Could you put a divider in your Nero 4 for a bit so they can still see each other and maybe meet up again bit by bit in the play pen? xx

possibly was going to put george in nero 2 for a bit! what would I use for a divider? they fight in playpen as much as anywhere probably more so! They might be better just left next to each other with divider for a few days to cool off! no idea how I would make one though!

right well was sick of playpen being out and my living room a mess as one of them has been living init for 2 days (they took turns). I have tydied it away and george is now in a nero 2 underneath tiger in his nero 4. Just put them in and they are going mad looking for each other and shouting :)) They did this yesterday too though so I don't trust theyv'e made up as george seems to miss tiger but then gets fed up after a while and rumbles!

Tomorrow I'm going to buy some cooling racks and divide the nero 4 up and leave them apart for a few days then let them have some play time together!

fingers crossed!

today i put up the divide thought they would be ok for 5 mins together whilst I sorted it so poped them into the playpen and there was instant loud teeth chattering from both of them.

George was swiftly removed into the nero 2 where he continued to chatter to himself for a good 5 mins.

I then put tiger into the divided cage and george into the playpen. George walked round the playpen teeth chattering and prouling about looking for tiger.

Then george went into the divided cage & as soon as they spotted each other the chattering started from both parties and tiger ran off to hide. Now george is looking for him under his bed etc.. and still chattering away!

Do I remove one of them again or will this be ok for them to argue from a distance? I don't want them to be perminantly upset & cross!

Day two with divider. They are chattering teeth less but still doing it. Off to vets tomorrow as have a suspicion george has some skin complaint making him moody as spotted thin bare stripes down the front of his front legs and very very small patch of fur missing off his nose (this could be due to their scuffle though also).

Also I noticed that tiger may have a cut under his mouth (it could just be a load of muck stuck there though) I tried to clean him up with a wet flannel but even though I had rapped him up I was very scared of my fingers and he was getting distressed and licking and biting the cloth so in the end I left him alone :( fingers crossed he is just a very mucky boy!)

Wish me luck!

Gosh these two seem to have really had a fall out. I wish they could talk! Maybe George is a bit cross if he has a skin problem. Let's hope the vet can sort him out for you. Fingers crossed. x

Thanks yes went to vet turns out that hiding behind what I thought was a little cut on tiger was a largish hole filled with puss! poor darling. He's had an injection and I have to administer antibiotics and bathe his face each day! I thought he was a bit less interested in hay etc.. over last few days but thought it was just that he was sulking. He seems much happier this evening and really enjoyed his cuddle (eek eek) !

The vet said they **** would never get on again, but that maybe neutering would help when they are a bit older. I have a while to decide what to do as they are too young yet.

George has had another course of mite medicine and has to go back twice more this time!

Glad you have found out what is wrong with Tiger and he is being treated. I hope they can pal up again. Never is a long time, so I would definitely try again once Tiger is well again. Don't much feel like playing myself when I am poorly. x

yes but I think george caused the absess by biting him and at minute tiger has started rumbling and swaggering up to the divider. I am terrified that it will start all over again when they get back together. George also chews the divider and stretches up to the top like he is trying to get over. (it's way too high though as is cooling racks. I will give it until george has had his next two mite treatments and until tiger is better then maybe will try sterilising everything. Is milton Ok to use?

I managed to bathe tiger's mouth today and also administer the antibiotics he loved the taste so much (in added summerfruits cordial to it) that I couldn't get it in his mouth as he kept licking it! :)) It was a struggle to get it far enouugh back to stop any leaking out but managed it in the end (not looking forward to tomorrow now I know what it's like to do) :))

Anyway fingers crossed! x
