Billy, one of my pigs (I really must take photos) has recently started peeing blood. Upon examination byt the vet he found no tenderness on the bladder, so we're erring on the side of caution and hoping it's a UTI, so he's being treated with Baytril.
However, should the need arise that he needs an X-Ray I want to be able to go in and talk my vet out of using anesthisa. His main concern is the stress of restraining him in order to get a clear photo of the little bones.
Now, I know from reading GL and other members of this forum who have successfully had their pig diagnoised and xrayed without sedation. I want to know how this was done, and if any of your vets would be perhaps willing to have a chat with my vet on the phone to explain how they did it. I'd also appreciate anyone with any links to "offical sources" showing that it can be done. In addition, I've read that septrin can be benefical and better for UTI's (or is that URI's? I can't remember!) so any sources on this would be appreciated too.
Also, any demonstrations of a good solid towel wrapping method would really help too.
Thanks! (And less cross our fingers for billy that it is just a UTI and goes away
