Xenex Ultra Very Bad Rection

Tonight i used xenex ultra spot on , on my rabbits and omg after about 10 minutes they started going crazy especially my white rabbit i have had to bath them all it has burnt their skin. they are still jumping about crazy this is terrible stuff never use it!
 
Thank you for the warning, I have seen some awful reactions to Spot on (on pigs) and don't use it myself. I would complain to the company and get them checked by a vets and they may need pain relief too. Was it at the dose on the packet?

i followed the dosage but it caused my bunnies so much pain and stress such a shame i am so upset they have had to be bathed and rabbits hate bathes ...so its added more stress this stuff should be taken off the market i am very worried about Oreo in particular he is very distressed i called the emergency vet they said to bathe them and gave me a dosage for metacam as i have some at home....my beautiful Oreo

He's beautiful, glad you have spoken to the vet and have pain relief too.
 
Oh poor babies. Oreo is gorgeous. I know what you mean about bathing rabbits, total nightmare. I really hope their skin cools soon.
 
Thank you for the warning regarding this. Maybe make a complaint to the company and send pics of your rabbits wounds.
 
yes i will be making a complaint ...please put the word around about this product i normally use xeno 450 with no problems but the bloody vet talked me into this one....it does say on the packet that it kills cats! i should of known better!...could kick myself!
 
thank you...but they will hate me now after bathing them as well as burning them...oh dear what a night..
 
They will forgive you. I had to give my rabbit two baths when I first rescued him as he was filthy. They will understand you are helping them.
 
and iwas thinking about the rabbits and other rodents that this product was probaly tested on and how they must of suffered ...
 
Oh my goodness thats awful, how does Xenex Ultra differ from Xeno 450? And other topical ivermectin treatments?
 
I'm not sure of the difference must be the main ingredient as xenex ultra deters blow flies the ones that cause fly strike and i dont think xeno 450 does , i use xeno 450 on the piggies and it never causes any problems with either them or my rabbits but i saw some blow flies in the shed so i took the precaution and used the xenex.
 
Oh my god! I am absolutely appalled and shocked to hear this has happened and there is no one to blame but the vet. I would be making a complaint to them too as well as the company. No one should have to put their pet through that, don't blame yourself we are not the professionals. Hope your bunnies recover quickly :)
 
thank you , my vet had asked what i use for fleas etc and i said xeno 450 he then showed me the xenex and said oh this one is much better obviously promoting it to get commission!

i have made a complaint to the Genitex who make it and will let you know what they say...
