hi all my vet suggest i use this on my adopted piggie but i wanted to make sure it was safe he suggested it as hes a petshop pig he also has alittle dry skin on his ears any advice i would be greatfull of :)

Xeno 450 is Ivermectin based and is used to treat mites - does he have mites?

It is safe to use topically on guineas but the dose depends on their weight. You can order it online more cheaply than getting it from the vets. Very small / baby pigs need Xeno 50 which is a lower dose

hi i cant see any he said it was best to use as a precaution before he goes in with my sows wich wont be happening yet as he needs de plumbing first he said not to use it on him until hes 800g

You can't see mites with the naked eye, you'd need a microscope - but you can see the effects of them (scratchy itchy skin, patches of hair loss, raw skin etc).

If he's not showing signs I wouldn't treat him, or treat them all once they're together if needed.

he doesnt have any signs at the moment could i use the gorgeous guineas mite shampoo or just leave it for now? what could i use on his ear its got white dry skin on it no scabs or any thing ?/ thank you so much for your help :)

It wouldn't hurt to give him a bath, and might sort out his ear as well - if you're able to send a picture of the ear to Chrissie at Gorgoues Guineas she can usually recommend a cream or melt to use on him to soothe his skin :)

Aloe Vera Ointment or Coconut Oil are useful products to use on dry skin. Both products are normally found in high street chemists' shops.
