It could be out of fear..how do you pick them up? I tend to lure mine into a tunnel. One of my babies use to nip when she was very young and even drew blood once, but she just grew out of it.

Have a read of this guide about biting. " Biting" And What You Can Do (Biting, Tweaking, Nibbling and Nipping). This explains the guinea pig’s behaviours and how you can work with your guinea pig to help them.
While I am commenting please can it draw your attention to our teams and rules about posting.

“c) Avoid the use of ‘internet slang’ and ‘TXT SPK’ e.g. ‘u’ instead of you; or ‘lk’ instead of like. Please also avoid typing in BLOCK CAPITALS and ensure you use correct English when posting.“

I've just realised that this is one of the reasons I love the forum so much. Because people DO use full words!

If only more places regulated 'Internet slang' like the forum does. *sigh*

Well I either use a small towel just to scoop them up or I just gently use my hand and pick them up from below if they let me. But ive always picked her up the same way and she just started to bite now so idk what happened.

I would have a look at the guides recommended because they are very useful. Also, maybe use a tunnel to lure?

Some of us belong to a bygone age before computers.
I always thought a mouse was a little furry creature but I have learnt that the mouse on my desk doesn’t need feeding or cleaning.
The text language rule is for us dinosaurs.

My Priscilla likes to nip me if she’s being held. She doesn’t like being held and it usually means ‘“Put me in my cage - now”.
She never hurts me - it’s just enough to get me to do her bidding.

I also thought she may not want to be picked up or held. Possibly she’s now more confident to let you know.

My shyest girl is a biter. She will even bite my clothes when I carry her to the run. Thankfully I don't have to maintain her hair because she's short haired, unlike my other two pigs 🙄. I think she's confident enough now to feel she can say 'oi, put me down, put me down riiight now!'.

I don't need my pigs to be cuddly, I love that they have their own characters, and if that means some don't enjoy being held, I'm fine with that 😊. I love them all regardless. I just want them to live their best life ❤️

Is it a proper bite, or a definite nip that leaves a mark? Because my guinea pigs will nibble me, or try and comb my skin through their teeth to groom me, could it be some rough piggie lovin’?

Ok i dont think its loving cause she only does it when i pick her up but its like a nibble but she does it like continously

My Elvis nibbles and tugs my clothing (and skin sometimes) if I hold him. He's not a fan of being stroked or anything like that so I think he's just telling me he doesn't like it.
