Hi!
So I bit the bullet the day before last and properly tried Mary with Opal and Olive, it went really well! I think Opal felt a bit threatened by Mary as Mary is like a buffalo compared to them
!
But Mary wasn’t showing much sign of being dominating, she didn’t even make a noise! It looks like she really wanted to make friends and is just a bit ‘in-your-face’ and confident, she’s put a foot on Opal and Opal would squeak so mary would run off and say hi to Olive who didn’t put up with much, Mary would then get excited hopping about between both of them. There was no loud squeaks this time or loud teeth chattering, just little chatting and small squeaks when Mary got a bit too annoying. After 20 mins they were all following each other around the kitchen and sharing so pepper
I put them together in the same cage and it’s gone really well so far. There is of course the odd arguments but nothing that sounds like fighting. I’m so pleased!
Today we made a ramp to join the two cages as one cage isn’t big enough for the 3 of them as Mary takes up quite a bit of room as she loves to spread out and sleep in the way of places haha.
Mary (of course) is the only one so far who’s braved the ramp I’ve even caught her laying down on top of it. It’s a great space for the 3
Some of you may remember I was thinking about getting Mary the Rex boyfriend that was in the pet shop for months, I went back the other day and he wasn’t there
It’s good in a way as I’m not really in the position at the moment to spend the money on getting him neutered etc. But I do worry he has gone to a rubbish home all alone. But I could be wrong he could have gone to a piggy lover!
