My brother bought a girl guinea pig the same time as i bought my two. He only wanted one but i have been trying to explain to him that his one is lonely and desperately needs another guinea pig as his hides all the time and never comes out only to eat. When she is with my two she has such a good time.

He has finally said that he agrees and she is going to join my two in their cage! I think he realised i was right and also hes not doing a very good job at looking after her as i went into his room today and she had no food or water left.

I'm so happy that she is going to be with my two as it was heartbreaking to watch her crying when she was put back into her cage as she was crying for my two. They already know eachother but I'm going to introduce them properly tonight.

My two have only been in their new cage for 2 nights so hopefully they will accept her as they shouldnt be to territorial yet.

fingers crossed.
I will keep you updated!

Great news! I'm sure they'll make a great trio! :)

YAY thats really great news!

SO pleased as lonely pigs are very sad indeed.

Let us know how the introductions go.

Well... so far its been ok. At the beginning when they were in their run they didnt really take much notice of eachother and just played as usual. They were altogether in their cage for a while and nothing happened. But about 3 hours in the more dominant piggy is chasing the new one but it all seems ok. Theres no teeth chattering its just when she gets to near to her that she gets chased.

Fingers crossed it will all be ok :)

That's fantastic news. Hope the introductions continue to go well :)

That's great! :) I did feel for that wee one, like you did, especially when you told us she seemed so sad when she had to go back to her cage after play time with the others.

I am sure there will be a few housekeeping matters to be resolved between the 3 guineas now that they are all in the same space. But I don't think this compares to the lonely existence she had before. I know that if I had to choose, I'd rather argue occasionally with those around me, than live my life in total solitude.

Ye they are really getting on well! :)
I even spotted her asleep on the hammock with another one of my girls.
sooo pleased! It was definitely the right decision! I will need to make my 4x2 cage bigger though. probs 4x3 but atm they are still so small so i have a little while to do it! :)
