Finally picked our piggies today. Two sows(i'm assured from pet shop ).Very shy at moment. Have progreased from hiding behind igloo in sleeping area to one inside igloo, and now both inside...so progress!
Do you think set up is OK? Haven't opened side run yet. Will wait until they'really a bit more settled 1469287190256675561447.webp

Really?. Wasn't sure if it was too much too soon. They haven't ventured out of sleeping part yet but there are lots of new noises ; kids, neighbours yapping dog. Think I'll need to put something on ramp first.

Not much progress. Still living in sleeping area unless we open door. Don't appear to have eaten pellets or much hay and haven't drunk water. Have nibbled a bit of veg. Must have ventured into main area overnight tho as poop around. Cleaned sleeping bit today while they dashed into their tube.Have peed and pooped. Is this all normal. They are around 10 weeks old.

Yes all very normal I got my baby piggies on Thursday they ran straight into hideaway bit but ventured out over night as like you I found poo new piggies usually will not eat or drink with you watching them set up looks great zoomer and rubble let me change them today I did think oh but they might escape but I was left praising both piggies for being so good they've started venturing out a bit today if I sit outside very quiet and are making little squeaking noises I know they are drinking and eating ok so all good

Thanks. One is a little braver. Do you keep yours outside? I'm already concerned they're not warm enough overnight..lol. Haven't opened side run for them yet as very wet today.

Yes mine are outside they have been fine when the winter comes around I will be getting them the snuggle safe heated pad all you do is pop it in the microwave for summer you can get the ice pods you just freeze them and either wrap them in a towel or the snuggle safe covers fit perfectly keeps the piggies cool can wait to see pics of them

Ha...pics could take a while .Ive seen the snuggle pads .I'm in Scotland so they'll rarely be a need for a cool pack. .lol.How much hay do they need for sleeping. They have a plastic pigloo in they're sleeping den.Sorry for all the questions

I put a couple to 3 handfuls in then spread it around I put that on top of the Fitch bedding I use that seems to do the trick then I just replace that the next day try filling a paper bag up with hay they love playing in the bag and I also fill a kitchen roll tube with hay

Yep. I've scattered hay all over the recycled paper bedding which is on top of a puppy pad and filled igloo but when I go back they've flattened it! They are covered overnight but still worry

They should be ok they will rearrange their bedding how they like it that's what I do but instead of using puppy pads I use huggies disposable mattress protecters you get 7 in a pack I cut them in half and I get 14 changes

Yeah. Going to be expensive but got 14 puppy pads for £1.99 in home bargains but paper bedding is dearer but I'm allergic to wood shavings

You should try Fitch bedding I think last time I got it I brought a 20kg bale and it last forever and it's around £23 you literally get loads good value for money I won't any other thing now :)

You will find when they in a pair they follow one another around its so cute to watch I'm glad I got 2 as my last piggie was on his own he didn't really mind but I think it nicer for them to have company help them not be bored
