Yes, they do love melon!

In 30 years (on and off) of looking after guinea pigs, it had never occurred to me to offer them melon until I read it on here.

So I just offered them some, and it was gratefully snatched and scoffed.

my 2 boys absolutly love it

i found out they liked it by accident. i was cutting some up for my kiddies as as i walked past them to put the rest back in the fridge they must have smelt it and they went crazy so i cut them abit off.

never seen 2 piggies so close to food heaven |)

I often cut a Galia or Cantelope melon in half, scoop the seeds out and give it them hole. It is funny watching them play tug or war

So they can have the outside shell/skin bit that we, as humans, wouldn't eat?

I often get the little fruit snack pots that we sell at Sainsbury's (called melon medley) and cut them into slightly smaller pieces that they can share. My piggies love it, the red chunks go down best!

How about the seeds? As I think they are generally quite big in melons right?

And wet clothes if you hand feed :p

We normally get the melon medley, or should I say I get it for myself and share most of it with the piggies. Although sainsburys do a 'basics' melon which is just a small honeydew normally and its only about 90p but still tastes yummy. They get a big slither of melon if I get this and like to fight over it
