Bit worried as I haven't yet seen piggies using their bottle. Just babies which i've had for a week and they are very shy. Did put a bowl in but they just tipped it. Have marked bottle but not much disappeared.

Try not to worry too much. Make sure u wash their veg &leave it quite wet they should get enough from that. Some guineas drink lots &others very rarely.
My Grace I've had for about 4yrs &I have never seen her drink from either bowl or bottle. I think she's about 5+ yrs old &doing well.
My old girl Ellie used to drink loads nearly swallowing the bottle as well as washed veg so I guess it justvaries as with humans.
Xx

Thanks for the reassurance. Have been leaving veg wet as I read that somewhere. They're huffing with us today as we've been trying to handle them

If the piggies are small, make sure they can actually reach the spout of the bottle - sometimes a small wooden block as a step under the spout can help.

Please refresh the water in the bottle daily.

Guinea pigs learn how to drink from a bottle from their elders. If they haven't had the chance, then it usually takes longer as they have to figure it out by themselves.

Don't panic, they get enough fluid from their veg to not dehydrate.

They don't go near it. I might try the bowl again, so worried they'really not taking any

It took a good couple of weeks before we saw our two girls drink from the bottle and even now it isnt that common and one more than the other. We have had them almost 3 months.

We put a small bowl in as well as the bottle when we first had them but you need to change the water frequently as it gets poo etc in it! I wasn't sure how hygienic it was and decided wet veg was the better option.
