nice one... 8;)8)

Looks great. A little tip, try & enclose the ramp so they don't fall off or get knocked off it. If it's almost touching the back then a piece of wood down one side should do.

Is that Pets at Home Bluebell Hideway? If so that's the one that I have just bought - what do you think of it?

Thanks for the advice I had thought that to be honest.. I have a wonderful carpenter as a boyfriend so he's going to do a few little tweaks for me :) he's going to put in another shelf to shorten the ramp and make it better for them to use. My poor little piggies are frightened they won't use it :( il post more pics when it's done :)

Hi yes it is, I bought it on Friday. It's a loverly big hutch for the money! Like I say it needs a few tweaks but its a lovely strong hutch and fantastic teamed with the thermal cover :) very cosy!

My piggies won't use the ramp it's very steep and the top floor isn't very well guarded for them! A rail of some sort will solve the problem though nothing too drastic. Other than that best cage iv seen for the money I paid for it :) and iv seen a few solutions to the ramp on here, so il test them out and post some pics :)

Finally managed to get the other half to agree to a new hutch :)
It's soo much better than my old one! So much more room

Just a few more Tweeks and it will be perfect for my little princess's :)

I've seen these in pets at home outside, everytime I walk past someone is carrying one to the car. I've noticed they are a lovely hutch as one is always outside and they are reduced to £80 at the moment. I can imagine my Titch running up the ramp:))

There lovely! I would recommend to anyone :)

You could cut a carpet tile or even an Ikea door mat that's made out of similar stuff & glue it onto the ramp. Piggies like a bit of grip when they go up or down a ramp. I can remember my look of horror when Minky first tried to come down a ramp 2 years ago. She just slid from top to bottom & landed in a heap. Luckily no lasting damage to her.

I carpeted the ramp of my hutch within a few days of getting my boys and realising that they never went on the lower level. Worked a treat and I won't even consider putting them into their new hutch (once built) until I have done the same thing.

Il defiantly try that! Iv lifted it up a bit so it's not so steep at the mo, but il defiantly be purchasing some carpet as soon as I can :)

I do think sometimes it's a confidence/personality thing don't you though. Some guineas are lazier than others. If you had to could you make a new longer ramp so it is less steep?

That's what I thought my one Charlie is a lot more outgoing and confident, she keeps trying. But Lola isn't even curious, I never realised until I had mine what strong personalities they have and how loving they are :)

Iv just been and purchased a square of carpet so il get the other half on the case later and see what he can do. It's a shame them only getting to use half the room they now have :(

You could get a fabric tunnel made to fit the ramp, they may feel safer that way and it would give them extra grip.

A strip of vet bed will do the job and it's easily washable, add a large fleecy tunnel and you will have amazingly happy fur babies :(|) Even a pillowcase folded to fit the ramp will suffice until you decide. Some people put the end of the ramp onto a small wooden hidey so piggies can jump onto the top then venture up the ramp :) They don't climb well or like heights - we added little bannisters onto ours so they could whizz up and down safely :) :)
I forsee your piggies having lots of zoomies in there...:x
