Hi everyone,
I am deverstated my Yogi passed away this evening at around 8:30pm. I feel sick and very upset at the moment. I am numb and gutted Yogi could not hold on until Tuesday for her weigh in at the vets for the operation.

I just hope my baby suffered a heart attack which would have been relatively quick, rather than the rupture of the cyst!

Kiwi is currently being very quiet and probably distraught over the loss of her cage friend. I'm glad Yogi was not on her own.

RIP my beautiful baby girl, 4 years young. She was taken from me too soon. We are going to bury her next to Barley in the back garden next to a bush. Xxxxxxx

Never again am I going to get a piggie from Pets At Home, they always die on me within 4yrs. Can anyone recommended a farm in the lancs or breeder that I can get a companion from for Kiwi when the time is right? I hate talking like this so soon but I can't leave her alone.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Why don't you try a recommended rescue from the rescue locator bar at the top of the page? You are more likely to get a better bond and also a healthy, correctly sexed piggy.

It is hard getting another piggy so soon, but it's for your remaining piggy right now, and you can start to bond with the new one once you feel ready too!

So sorry for your loss :-( big hugs!
We have pah piggies and I will never darken their doors again, the problems we have had is unbelievable! x

I am so very sorry, what an awful shock for you :( Are you in Lancashire? I really recommend you contact Milhaven Rescue, the lovely Jo there would find you a companion of your remaining girl's choosing, which is much better than buying a pet shop piggy x

I'm so sorry for your loss. ((HUGS)) to you, and RIP little Yogi!

I'm so very sorry Katie 1988. The post I put up last night must have seemed thoughtless but I hadn't seen that you had lost Yogi by then. I truly didn't realise. I hope you don't think me heartless. RIP little Yogi and big hugs to you xx .

Big hugs and commiserations on your loss. The grieving process can make you feel quite poorly, but hopefully time will help you to feel brighter. Do explore some of the recommended rescues listed on the forum. They have the expertise to help you with introductions and find a new friend for Kiwi. xxxxxxx

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Me and Kiwi appreciate it and I am sure Yogi would be happy too.

We buried Yogi in the garden next to her former cage friend Barley. It was very upsetting, Kiwi was on me knee as we said our good byes.

I still feel numb, empty and lost. I am teary as I write this message. I will ring the vets tomorrow to cancel the Tues appointment, and try to book Kiwi in for a full health check to ensure there is nothing wrong with her.

I will have a look at the rescue centres thanks but I'm not ready yet and Kiwi isn't grieving yet so I don't think it is the right time.

Hi no I don't think that at all. Thanks for your kind words, I assumed you didn't see this post anyway. I think I will make it a priorty to get any cysts drained if Kiwi ever has this problem, no waiting around.

Thanks I will be sure to have a look when we are ready. I really want to have a piggie pal for Kiwi that will live longer than 4 yrs! X

I had a baby rescue piggy that lived for one year then passed away suddenly. You really can't see into the future, it's all down to genetics, and health.
I had a p@h piggy live nearly 7 years, so it really is pot luck where ever you get piggy from.

Hi Katie 1988. Just seen your last post. I hope things are a bit easier now - I know they won't be better, that takes longer. Big cuddles to Kiwi and hugs x

Hi Mr Biggles. Yeah things are a bit easier thanks, still hurt though she had such an amazing lil personality my room seems very quiet now without her.

Kiwi has started to grieve now I think, she is more squeeky and has started to sit in Yogi's fave spot (not under the hiding place which is very odd for Kiwi!)

I've found her a baby sow from a breeder though, I've reserved her so we'll see now. Thanks for your kind words x

It always takes a while to re-adjust - I still miss Mr.B desperately even though I've got the girls They do have huge personalities for such little souls and some have bigger ones than others!. Good luck with the the baby - hope all goes well x

Thanks I've reserved the baby now, she's ready to come home in a week. She comes with a pre treatment for fleas, mites and ticks which is good to know.

I'm sorry for just seeing this, Katie. Huge hugs to you, it's always hard to lose a piggy. I'm sure Kiwi will be delighted with the new baby, and although you can't replace Yogi, the new piggy will give you something to focus on, which can help x x

Thanks for your kind words Critter. Yeah no piggie can replace the ones we lost as they are all lil individuals.

Yeah I just hope Kiwi takes to the baby and mothers it. The baby was the only one in the litter so I'd imagine she will be longing for that mother figure
