I'm a bad piggy mummy this afternoon and Patchy at the moment hates me. I had a little accident during nail clipping time and took to much off, wasn't really my fault as miss wriggly despite my partner holding onto her just wouldn't keep herself still. There was blood (lots of blood), crying (that was me) and a call to the vets to see what I was supposed to do and then a trip to the vets to get some special powder put on to make the nail clot which they actually did for free. Very traumatic for everyone involved but Patchy got her her revenge in the end...

except I didn't get any special clotting powder and a treat.

Oh bad piggy Slave! She'll come round after a few treats.

Don't worry it's happened to all of us and if it hasn't it will do at some point. I haven't had it happen to me .......yet!

Normally I have no issue with clipping their nails but she was a little so and so today. My partner currently has a new nick name for me.....The Butcher!

When Betsy is in a foul mood, like it sounds Patchy was, the only was to calm her down is to rub her very gently with my fingernail underneath her left eye NEVER her right eye and she is calm in about 2 minutes. You could try that to see if it works on Patchy too.

Anyway as you can see by the photo we had to quit with the nail clipping for today and try again another day when I am forgiven and the memories of today's trauma has been dulled a little.

Patchy likes to bury her head under my chin when she is upset which usually settles her down but today she was going to have none of that lol.

Don’t worry she’ll come round lol
I nicked one of Teds nails last week (he moved) tiny bit of blood, he has forgiven me now after lots of treats

Ours all had a nail trim at the vets this week, no blood but they were very sulky afterwards! Poor Theo was very traumatised because last time he was at the vets he came home without his testicles, he was very worried what else might get cut off! He had a jolly good rumblestrut when he came home just missing a few toenail clippings on monday, just to check everything else was still there and in working order :)

I would have cried loads too, I was always terrified of clipping Teddy's nails

But you did great and now she's safe and will be herself again after a few treats :))

I cried too and felt dreadful when I nicked Bracken's quick last year, it soon stopped bleeding and he didn't seem bothered. I was very nervous of nail cutting for ages afterwards but he didn't seem to mind. My OH who was holding him at the time has never let me forget it!

My Rupert's great with his nails, sits like an angel.
His lady Jessie though turns feral when it's her turn! Makes so much noise my neighbours must think I'm torturing her! She's been nicked a few times, acts all calm to fool me then jumps around like a nutter mid-chop!
Always feel terrible but you'd think after 5 years she'd be used to it by now!

That’s why I take mine to the vet nurse for nail clipping.

Cornflour works if you clip too much another time
