A lady came to see the pigs at the weekend, and I knew it was the right home for 2 reasons:

1. When she first held the piggies she was going to adopt, she sniffed them and said 'Ooooh I just love that wonderful piggy smell'!

and

2. When she met Captain Jack, my kitchen pig, she said 'Oh yes, my previous piggy was called Chief Inspector Charlie'

I knew then, she'd be ok!

She rehomed Irving and Kipper, and I must admit I shed a tear or two when they left

PS - When Irving came in from the auction he was only about 600g - when he left yesterday he was 1270g! And Kipper and amazing 750g

Oh, Sophie what a fantastic job you have done with them both. I bet you are so proud and satisfied!

I wish them all the very best of luck in their home x>>

And she emailed first thing to tell me they had travelled and settled in ok... :)

Had a rough week, as I've had several piggies go that have been here for a while or that I'm particularly attached to - these two, and George the Layby boy and his friend Basil. 2 lots of of tears! But to brilliant homes, both pairs.

I so tickled that Irving and Kipper have found such a good home! They are a great pair.

Letting those gorgeous piggies go is probably the second hardest thing being a fosterer... (after losing one to illness), so bittersweet!

HUG for you - and hopefully many regular updates! Have you invited their new mummy to come on here? She sounds absolutely right!

She sounds a lovely lady, and while of course I feel your sadness, it's wonderful that they've gone to a great home.

thats such good news for the boys xoxo hope you are feeling better too

Awwwwww 8... I was thinking of George just now when I was looking at Zippy's photo's :) It must be so very hard letting go :( but at the same time rewarding to find them loving homes and make more space at Sophie's guinea pig palace for more piggies who are in desperate need :)
