Hi All, I posted a little while ago about my newly acquired young females who I introduced to my 3 year old sow following the loss of her companion. They have all been living quite happily together since meeting and have been together for a couple of months now. One is named Trouble as she is extremely lively and curious. I'm pleased she has now got out of the habit of constantly biting at their cage bars and it has helped since I bought them a play pen and they have more room to run around. When I got home from work last night the other young piggy had a nasty bite on the ear which had bled quite a bit. I've not seen them biting each other before and since my older piggy is very gentle I've assumed Trouble has done it. She bites me pretty constantly when I handle her. I decided the best thing to do was separate her to protect the other, at least whilst her ear heals. It's such a shame as Chi Chi has such pretty little pink ears as you can seen on my forum photo :-( I would welcome any advice or tips from anyone with experience of this. I don't want to keep Trouble on her own forever but I'm worried about her biting again. Is it wise to separate them for a while? I'm even wondering whether I should find Trouble another home, but it would have to be a 5 star home where she is kept indoors. I've become fond of her though and she is the prettiest piggy to look at just very mischievous! Anyone interested?! Thanks for reading this post.

It sounds either like some scrap or fight. I would recommend to re-introduce your girls on neutral ground without any hideys and then see from their reactions whether it was a serious incident or not, and take it from there.

Thanks Wiebke, I will give it a go this evening and see how they react. I really hope it was just a one off incident.
