Mine is Sue & I estimate her to be about 6 minimum - I've had her for 4 years & I was told she was approx 2 when I got her.....

My oldest is Maisie and she's getting on for 7 now :o

All mine at the moment are young 'uns. Trixie is a rescue so not sure of her exact age but defo under one year. Tia and Tilly are sisters and are coming up to 5 months old.

The eldest guinea I ever had was Meeka. She passed away from cancer in September and was 7 and a half.

my eldest at the moment is Elvis Pigsley who is 8 1/2 years old. The eldest I ever had was Mabel who died at the grand old age of 12 years.

Blimey 12 is prehistoric! thats 3 times the age of my daughter & I feel like I've had her forever! What a very special pig :) The oldest I knew of was a friend of mines who made it to 11.

She was a very special pig. She grew old gracefully. When the time came she passed away peacefully in my arms.

Thats only happened to me once last year (passing away in my arms). She was a RSPCA pig & was unsure of her age. I didn't know what to do - just let her slip away quietly or fight to save her. I bet that was a really hard day for you. When I hold my OAP's I always make sure I've had an extra squeeze just incase!

my eldest is perky who will be 7 in Feb. :)

But my eldest ever was Granny Popsie she was 11 when she passed away :'(

Does anyone have an opinion on whether boys or girls live longer? Just wondering now I've got boys. Used to keep girls when I was little and we never had one make it past 5 :(

my girls always seem to live the longest squeak was 8 cuddles was 7 , my eldest boy was 5 but some are coming up to that now so we shall see Quincee (girl) is almost 5 and dipstick (boy) same

My oldest pig was Joe although I had no idea how old he was. He was adult when I got him and I had him for 6 years. The oldest pig I have now is Matti who is coming up to 4 years and is the only survivor I have left from when all my piggies died. My youngest are a week and a half old :)

none of my piggies got older than 2 years sadly :( my oldest one is just over one year right now.

However, I had rabbits before, and my Jam reached the grand age of 8 :)

What happened to your pigs Abnoba? I ask because it seems there's a strange phenomenon where boars develop kidney failure and die around the 2 year old mark. I've had a few boars die from it around that age and my rodentologist said its more common than we realise. The boars I lost were different breeds so it wasn't something inherited. I always keep a close eye on my boars that are coming up for the 2 year old mark.

the first one was a girl, only about 2 or 3 years old. she got tooth problems that werent treated properly at the vets,
and by the time she was at the CCT it was too late... she died at Vedras from kidney failure.

Than we got a rescue girly in, but her health must have suffered so much where she lived.. she started behaving oddly one evening, and the next morning she was gone.. at least she died in a nice way, looks like she was just asleep on her hot water bottle.

And then my Marvin (just over one year) got a cold, well in the end it looked more like pneumonia, and at the end he was so poorly that we had him PTS :(

Its not been a good year.

I always heard they only get like, 10 years max, and the average bunny is 6 when it dies? :o

When I was younger I remember being told 6 was about average, and was pleased my rabbits made 5 and 6, but nowdays i think you can expect them to get to 7-10 apparently.

I think 15 is pretty exceptional, but on Rabbits United there are several people who have had bunns over 10 and upwards :o

:o when I had bunnies as a kid, we were told to be surprised if they ever got older than 2! Piggies the same, although I have known for years that no being the case!

my oldest guinea pigs are holly and meggie who have jsut turned one my ither too are only 10 weeks

i did have another 2 before what i got given coz the people where movign away i think one lived to about 2 and the other 3

i had a rabbit what loived to i t was 4 the other was 3 and the others where 2 and half

Interesting, but not something I have ever come accross or heard about before? If you find anymore about about this I'd love to know more please :)

And my oldest guineas have been 7 plus. As they were all rescues, not sure of their exact age but we had them 7 plus years.
