Teenage Guinea Pig
My baby guinea pig is 9 weeks old and over the weekend we noticed blood in his urine. So it was off to the vets asap. The vet tested a sample and said she couldnt see anything but gave him antibiotics anyhow. He has had a very upset tummy with them and, as he is a fluffy chap, bathed 2-3 a day (i will avoid details!)
Anyhow last night i knocked the bottle of antibiotics over malletheadso i rang the vet to get some more. She told me that as his tummy is so upset we will stop it, if he seemed well. I was worried because is lethargic and obviously getting dehydrated, i have been syringe feeding him some fluids and he seems perkier this eve.
So, my dilemma. Do i stop the antibiotics? (i have enough for 3 more doses) I have no idea if the urine infection has gone, his urine didnt always have blood in it before anyhow! Aghhhh!
We go on hols on sat and I am only still going ahead with it as the boarding place is very experienced, its the rescue centre we originally got him from.
I feel so sorry for my babe

p.s i just found him snuggled in bed with his teddy, oh my he is just sooooo cutedrool
