Oh Cindy, no matter how much money I spend on tubes, treat dispensers and houses when you're out and about you settle for a primark bag, newspaper ball, newspaper tent and an old Teddy bear. I'll think twice about buying you a toy next time :))

she hadn't popcorned for ages, but when that newspaper tent hit the floor she did.

Has anyone got anyother toy ideas? I don't mind buying them :D

oh and I've checked the "guinea pig toys" forum I just wanted to know if there was anything else :)

I have made the same experience - the cheap toys are usually the biggest success!

You can try a heap of old towels, rags or cheap fleece for pulling and burrowing under (if necessary, stick a tube in at first, so the pigs are getting the idea).

Swirl some fruit juice around a saucer, empty and let the piggies explore - try different flavours.

Cardboard boxes are always a hit - you can also cut windows in for them to squeeze through, or connect two boxes by a tube.

Build little hurdles with a ruler (about 2 in high).

Crawling into a nearly empty bag of pellets or muesli.

Build mazes, hide food...

Here are loads more tips: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=43520

I cut a piece of fleece and sewed it onto some cotton tape to make a curtain in the cage. Piggies love running through it and peeping their noses underneath. :)

I often put scrunched up paper, tunnels and houses together all jumbled and then put a fleece throw over all of it. They love exploring under it :)

Thanks for the ideas, I'll try them one day :))

she burrows in my dressing gown, so when I got a new one I'd cut a square off for her bed, she chose that more than her pigloo :)):))

That sounds cute x). It reminds me of something i used to do with my 2 year old cousin, running though the washing on the line

Mine love kitchen towel cardboard tubes with chunks of apple, carrot etc pushed into the middle and then stuff each end with hay.

Teresa xx
