i have this exact same post in health too. O0
okay as some of you know i took down the barrier seperating her and jessie girl. besides jessie bossing her around and not letting zoe eat much zoe has returned to squeaking for no reason as though she is in pain. and yet jessie is no where near her when she squeaks. but once she is back with the barrier up she doesn't squeak at all. can anyone tell me why she is doing this? she will let out one squeak and then nothing, she doesn't continually squeak. have tried her had barrier down for 2 days she squeaked, had it up for 2 days she was quiet, have it down again now and she is squeaking. should we be concerned or just keep an eye on her? thanking you in advance. sending hugs :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: she has always been like this since we got her. 98) she is 3 months short of being 4 years old.
is it some sort of piggy panic attack. when i got her from the petshop (south oz have no rescues) she was alone. she use to squeak like this when choloe was alive too. yet when the barrier is up they both lie next too it trying to cuddle up to each other. wonder if there is a piggy shrink 98) 98) 98) have put the barrier back up, no more squeaking and they are laying on either side of it trying to cuddle up, it is just too weird for me. 98)

I'm not to sure Mary, hope someone can help you out soon and you get to the bottom of it.

These guinea pig's need to come with a dictator machine i think lol x

okay it has been 12 hours with the barrier up and no squeaking, and both are laying by the barrier trying to get as close to each other as possible. 98) have no idea what to do so am going to make cage bigger and try again if this doesn't work think i will get jessie a friend and just let zoe look at them through the barrier with lots of cuddles from OH and myself. unless anyone has any other suggestions? hugs to all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Wouldn't it be great if we could talk to the animals! I totally sympathise with why you're fretting over strange squeaks and yelps. It's so hard to know what's going on in their little piggie heads. If you're thinking of getting another piggie, why not let them all run together. Perhaps another member in the colony will change they dynamics :-\

we feel zoe has been bullied too much first by choloe 0:) 0:) 0:) and now jessie. we think she has been pushed too far and is scared of other piggies in the same box as her. so if she is scared of jessie having more than jessie she could be ganged up on and bullied even further. for now we will just continue with the barrier and watch them.
for now zoe seems happy enough by herself and so does jessie really. thanks for the replies. O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Maybe Zoe's squeeking for attention when the barriers down? Is Jessie ignoring her when they're unbarriered? My Pheobe wheeks/squeeks like crazy if Ruby's not giving her the attention she craves. LOL x

zoe being bullied

zoe was paired up with the late choloe, when choloe got on heat the bottom would wobble, choloe would rattle, and wouldn't let zoe eat or drink. jessie is doing the same, zoe just squeaks and gets really scared. now that zoe is on her own the silly duffer is happy and has even attempted a few popcorns. she will be 4 in august.
jessie is also getting use to living alone, we have their two cages side by side and the sides are wire so they can see and smell eachother.
all the animals adore the OH they all want to follow him and be with him so manybe i will squish OH into zoe's cage, to keep her company, that would make zoe happy and the others jealous:)):)):))
have also had zoe and jessie out together for cuddles and zoe just starts shaking and squeaking in fear.
both are indoors like all our animals so they have us for company. hoping pheobe and ruby continue to love each otherxx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Well, Pheobe loves Ruby, she jumps on her sometimes when we catch her offguard, it's as thought she's trying to protect her!

Anyway, I must sleep. Lots of love you you, Zoe and Jessie x
