Zoella Letting Her Piggies Swim...

I recently watched one of Zoellas blogs on youtube. She was letting her piggies swim, which I know is such a terrible idea. She seems to be very loving of her piggies, and thinks that they enjoyed the swimming! I posted a comment on her video but as it was posted a month ago I doubt she'll see it. I can't help but worry for her guinea pigs thinking she might do this again. Maybe you guys could help her piggies out here and warn her by commenting on one of her videos telling her the risks and dangers of letting her piggies swim. Also it worries me as she is a very popular youtuber and has probably influenced a lot of her viewers to mimic her actions on their own guinea pigs. So if you guys get a chance i'm sure her guinea pigs would appreciate a few fellow piggie owners helping them out.
 
hi there, letting piggys swim is not a good idea, if they breath in water they can develope resportary conditions that can be fatal
 
The Zoella you tube video is one of the main reasons the banner was put on the main page of the forum..

Your right... even just now when I was searching for the video I found many others just like it and underneath they wrote:

"Hello,I watched zoella's vlog and her guinea pigs could swim,so me,Hollie and her friend put the guinea pigs in the bath to see if they could swim and they could,here's a clip to show you"

At least Zoella did keep her hands underneath them but it was VERY deep :(
 
I have just got my daughter to show me this video. I'm shocked at how deep the water is and her silly immature attitude. Those poor piggies looked terrified :(
 
Its horrible! I feel so sorry for her little piggies, especially because she believes so firmly that there enjoying it. I was expecting to see lots of comments in the description telling her what a bad idea it was, but I couldn't even find one! Its terrible.
 
I'm not a big user of Facebook - but know many forum members have been tagged and have commented on Zoella's post and similar posts.

I am sorry to report that a kind hearted friend has just linked me on fb to yet another video of piggies swiming! This one is a man with two in a pool. The poor things can't get out as the sides were too high. I have put her straight and asked her and anyone who reads it not to re post! X
 
What I don't get is; how do people not see that they are rushing to the edges looking for a way out?

I mean I know its quite shocking that they *can* swim but surely when you think about it you realise it's just a built in survival instinct and its soooo obvious they are just looking for a way out. I just don't get how people don't see that.
 
So dangerous letting piggies swim, but maybe she dosent know how bad it is letting piggies go for a swim, I'm not saying that it's not dumb, she should of looked it up but she ppb dosent know, hopefully someone can reach her and let her know. Hopefully we can get through to other people as well cause one time those piggies are gonna get hurt.
 
It's frustrating when no ones cares about their well being, the two pigs in the pool got shared to me by Someone I work with, and the next day all they kept saying was how cute they were, I tried to argue against it saying it actually isn't good for them and they're only swimming cause they'll drown and I got the most dirtiest look like I was a miserable cow, the dangers aren't being made aware of properly!

Thats not the way to treat a piggy , maby you shold let your parants take over, as you dont seem to have a clue
