    No paper bedding!

I went to Fitch this week and they have said that they have stopped selling large quantities of the 20kg bags online as people have been selling them on in smaller quantities at a profit. I got the impression there has been a small industry of people doing this. I go to the Fitch premises to...

Tom and Mini enjoying their new cage

Are teabags paper good? I've been seeing plenty of that but I don't really know how absorbent is it. I used fitch in the past but they've gone very expensive for my liking.

    No paper bedding!

Argh I feel your pain. I am in the same situation and I hate megazorb. I’ve bitten the bullet and paid more for the Fitch. There is a tiny (and possibly unfair) part of me wondering if Fitch are doing this to increase profits. If they are out of stock then surely they are properly out of stock...

    Fitch Bale Size

Looking at getting a big bale of Fitch bedding just wondering if anyone has one and could tell me how big it is. Any photos of a bale would be appreciated. Looking for something cheaper as bedding for my rats.

you could always section part of the cage and have a kitchen area !use fitch, carefresh, finacard cardboard bedding.i use this in my c and c cages in the winter,as i can still use fleece hides without it sticking to it.the poops all mingle to the bottom of the bedding, they are camoflaged into the...

    No paper bedding!

I think someone said here they can't get paper that they use to make fitch. So they are just selling all their stocks left. I just hope they start doing it again coz I really like it for my piggies. I checked Tropibed and it looks like sand?

    Tropibed

Hi, gawd yes I keep meaning to post! It’s ok, I had megazorb one end of the run, Fitch in their sleeping area and tropibed in the rest. The tropibed does smell musty and damp to start with and they definitely preferred the Fitch and megazorb but they have got used to it now. This week I used...

    Length of a Clean Cage

I change the soaking fitch in the hutch every 2/3 days. Then I do a thorough clean every week, which includes fleece bedding in the attached run being replaced. My piggies mostly pee and poo in the hutch with fitch and on the hay tray on puppy pads on the run so the fleece bedding don't really...

Carefresh vs kaytee clean and cozy

Thanks @lissie I have attempted to get fitch unsuccessfully! Ordered from them over a week ago, but haven't received it. Fitch themselves have been really unhelpful. Their email address doesn't work, I messaged them on facebook, waited 2 days for a reply which said nothing but 'please use the...

Thanks for this. Are the shredded strips long? I bought precut teabag paper but the strips are very long. Is it possible for you to post a photo of your teabag paper? Thank you.

    Hot weather management

I’ve changed the Fitch and vetbed to newspaper today as it’s just scorchio! They’ve even done zoomies rather than just laying around with the heat. It’s so hot in Leicester today.

...guinea pigs. Here's what I plan to get. This is to house three females. Plaza 160 cage Hide X 2 Water bottle x 2 Bowl Soft Hay Aubiose or Fitch? Nail clippers Vitamin c tablets? Harringtons pet food I plan to use zooplus for pretty much all of this as they seem to be decent suppliers...

    Bedding

...that would contain it well. There is the kaytee and carefresh that are soft paper based, and ecobale or eggboxes or finacard which are more cardboard based, and fitch which I think is shredded paper too? Or wood shavings, or hemp. Maybe buy a small bag of a few different types to try at first?

    Tropibed

I’ve just ordered some! I cannot get hold of Fitch and I’m not enjoying megazorb at all...so let’s see! Love the fact it can go in the green bin unnoticed 😜

Best non-sawdust, easy to clean and maintain beddings?

...try a paper bedding, you could use it the same way as you used the wood shavings but it may be more comfortable for Cody. I would recommend fitch www.fitchfirst.co.uk however it has been increasing in price and decreasing in quality recently, alternatively you could try the egg tray bedding...
