Hi everyone! So I want to start making my own fleece liners. I wasn’t going to be annoying and make another thread as there is a few about making fleece liners, I have read through them and got some great ideas. However I’m a little confused still. The mattress topper that people recommended...

Can anybody point me in the direction of some good fleece pee pads?

Thank you so much! I will certainly be considering these and a custom may be the right way to go. :) This is brilliant, very helpful little pocket of information. Thank you so much! You're too kind. The fleeces were from blanket and the fabrics came from hobby craft, the pony one I forgot...

    Fleece bedding.

HI GUYS. I'm in process of making the boys new cage, I would like to put fleece down. Just want to check I am setting up correctly as I am no good at sewing!.... Is 1 layer of puppy pads disposable or reusable OK under the fleece? Also would it work if I put a layer of Zorb and then the...

    Does my cage look ok?

My cage is lined with newspaper, then a layer of a disposable bedding such as aubiose, megazorb and then the whole thing is fully covered with hay on top so they have constant access to hay wherever they are and dont need to go to a specific place for it. Its huge thick piles which they make...

    Wifes questions about fleece

I use fleece liners. I make my own with quilted wadding (mattress protector) sandwiched between two layers of fleece. I wash them in a pet wash bag to save the hay and hair from going in the machine, line or radiator/airer dry (depending on weather!). I find fleece liners dry very quickly...

    Shambles Piggys

Feeling left out due to not having my own thread 🤣 so here goes! I basically became a guinea pig mum by accident. I went to see a friend who's boyfriend had been breeding Pigs. I saw Nala and instantly fell in love with her. I was told the rest of her litter had died and that she was losing...

    Bedding Sustainability

There really isn't one clear answer to this question as it is very complex, and depends on so many variables that what is the most sustainable option for one person will not be the same for another. For example wood shavings still mean tress are being cut down. The sustainability of this will...

Should I be worried? Guinea-pig inhales sharply when she squeaks for food!

See video for evidence, it's pretty hard to hear but it's when she turns away. The sound is almost similar to air being pumped into a bicycle tyre! (You'll probably need the video to play on maximum volume to hear it). I've had Penelope (and Matilda) for a little over a week now and Penelope...

    Questions about boars

Hi! Please take the time to carefully read our comprehensive boar guide and the settling in/human interaction guides. Cage Liner

Hello, I thought I would share some pictures of the cage liner that I made this morning. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out but my stitching is a little wonky in places but I'm sure the piggies won't mind.:) I haven't got piggies yet but I'm busy prepping away. I have done lots of...

    C&C cages

I've gone through a lot of different beddings to see what works best for me, right now I use aubiose, fleece liners or sometimes just layered towels and fleeces :) I don't like how fast it gets dirty but the pigs love it and it makes it much easier to collect their poo for the garden x

Is this the right mattress stuff to make my own fleece?

Looks fine to me. I made mine with old towels instead and they still seem to enjoy them. When I make my other 4 liners I’ll have to try that stuff and see what the piggies think of it

    Adding a Kitchen

I've been reading through previous threads on putting in a kitchen area and I'm looking for advice on adding one to the C&C I'm building. The cage is 6x4, one level. It is planned to hold six piggies at first (pending their approval of their new cage mates). My goal is to make cleaning easier...

    I'm hoping to get a C&C cage

Oops sorry, I should have put 70mm. I forgot to convert it from cm! And 15mm also should have been 15cm ☺ Correx is great when you need a solid waterproof surface, i had my cage originally on a wooden table. However when I needed to have a smaller temporary cage on the carpet, I put a shower...
