I always look forward to seeing Sir Les on tv but he hasn't been on for many years.

Ok back on topic guys...

An Up date on the strange Knot...

I cleaned out the girls today when I got back from work with help from my daughter and had a nother check of the knot. It now looks like there is a scab under the knot and appears to be peeling off naturally I could just see where there is a wound, but it looks all dry and clean so fine for the moment. She seems totally unfazed by it.

I figure a scab is natures plaster so are leaving it well alone, when it parts company and is just attached to the fur, then I will carefully remove it if safe to do so. I'm planning to still take them to the vet to an MOT anyhow and will see what they say.

On a side note they are caming down a bit and getting used to being handled which is nice.

Yes, officer, what seems to be the trouble?

I've broken my whistle and someone has just weed in my helmet! other than thet all is fine OBTW...

You're nicked! LOL:p

Oh Yes... and if you put up a fight pepper spray... its great on chips as well!

I give up. I can't keep up with your sense of humour.
If you listen carefully you can probably here whispers of "Thank goodness for that!"

I've said I'll come quietly, officer.
I don't think this forum likes odd people...maybe the odd gp owners should start their own forum? Sound of distant cheering.
Anyway, serious matters, how is the pig? Did you sort out the problem?

Perhaps it is a generation thing - a different sense of humour rolleyes

Not as yet, going to take her to the vet today and see what they say, It looks fine now just like a large scab that is drying out.

We shall see what they say.

I've had pigs with big fungal based scabs, especially around the side of the face.
The whiskers and hair all get tangled with the underlying scab. When it is ready to drop off it leaves a large, raw area. Like many pig problems it isn't a problem for the pig as such, unless the pig decides to start scratching the area and gets into a vicious circle. I find that aloe vera ointment, NOT av gel, has a good soothing effect on the affected areas, it is difficult to bandage a pig's head and face!!

Well the vet looked at her and said it was ok, a wound that is healing naturally which is best. They said if there were any problems bring her in.

So Phew!

So it seem they have passed their MOT! I will keep an eye on the scab.
