A very tough few months

Sending you hugs, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. You are such a special piggie person and do so much for your piggies and the rescue. I hope you feel better very soon.

Oh my word, that made me cry! Thank you so much it really does mean the world 💕 💕
Oh no, sorry didn’t mean to make you get tearful! Can’t imagine what you must be going through but I suffer with my mental health and my piggies are my world too, I definitely wouldn’t cope well if I was going through what you are, you must be incredibly strong xx

@Flutterby
Like everyone here, it's upsetting to hear 'one of your own' is going through a tough time. We all know you're a dedicated piggy carer and will be doing everything to keep your herd in the best possible health and wellbeing. You won't ever hear a bad word and know you'll only ever get support.

So if you're just having a crappy moment - reach out, many of us have had our struggles in all fronts and paws.

Sending big snoozy hugs, love and poops (coz lets face it...where we go...we find the poop somewhere on our persons!)
:)

I am so sorry to hear this Ruth. I consider myself to be a strong person but I struggle massively if one guinea is sick, never lone coping with the loss of many and the other issues you have. Have a hug from me and my gang. You are clearly so strong to have coped as well as you have. We are all here for you x

I'm so sorry to hear what is happening with you and your herd, like others have said. it's hard to lose one piggie, but to lose several in weeks is soul crushing, l have been there, you have to be so very strong for the rest of your piggie and your self ,and give your self a lot of love and kindness, sending you massive amounts of healing vibes and love from my herds.

Ditto what everyone else has said... sorry you have had such a rubbish time.. it's good to talk & I hope things improve for you xx

Be kind to yourself. I lost 9 rabbits in 2 weeks a few years back to salmonella and it was truely the most horrific experience of my life. I suffered both pysically and mentally so I can really relate to how you are feeling. Its something that even my other pet owning friends didn't even understand as its not the same as losing 1 or 2, you live in a state of fear and emotional exhaustion trying to keep everyone well. You are doing an amazing job and you should be incredibly proud of yourself. ((HUGS))

I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a prolonged bad time with everything recently :(
I lost 3of my girls in quick succession one year & it nearly broke me, so I dread to think how horrendous it must be for you. :bye:

Please take some comfort in the fact that you have given them your love, care, attention & they've received veterinary treatment swiftly.

They couldn't have wished for a more devoted slave, many guineas in this world could only dream of living their lives as yours have done.
The weeks, months & years your Guineas spent with you were quality ones, they enjoyed life to the full and although they all left you far too soon, they knew love & a happy life.

hopefully you can find a ray of light through the darkness you're in at the moment, wishing a speedy recovery to you & your remaining guineas.

Much Love to you all
The girls & I xx 🐹

So sorry to hear about the horrible time you have had and the loss of so many of your lovely piggies. As I suffer with my mental health, I know what you mean you say your piggies are your world.
I echo what others have said and hope the sunshine returns to your life soon.
I hope your piggies are all better soon. Sending you healing vibes and much love.xx

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time Ruth.your piggies know they are in the best hands.ive lost two young piggies in a week.its hard but it is nothing to do with your exemptlry care.Mental health is the hardest and people cannot see it.try and reach out,it is a passing moment feeling in the darkest place. we all are here for you.xx

Mental health is the hardest and people cannot see it
That's the frustrating thing with Mental illness of any kind. If you had a broken leg and were on crutches everyone would be sympathetic because they can see you struggling to get around. With Mental illness your mind is "broken and on crutches" but because nobody can see it they are not sympathetic. My OH only understood about depression when he saw how ill my Mum really was. Before that he always wondered why people who were suffering from depression couldn't do nice things to make them happy again!

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through this. I was in a bad way with depression back in June and my piggies were my only reason to keep on living. I'm doing so much better now after help from the mental health crisis team and my doctor. I'd advise get all the help you can, and remember you CAN get through it. I don't recognise myself from who I was 6 months ago.
If you need anything just ask, I'm only 20 mins away x x

Thank you everyone. Mental Health still has such a stigma attached and it's just wrong. I have always been very open about my mental health and thankfully I recognised the signs that i was in a bad place this time around and reached out for help. I am going back to work at the end of this month and looking forward to things getting back to normal. xx
