I was at the vets yesterday with a friend because I was giving her a lift, she was taking her new kitten to be checked over,
While we were waiting a guy came in with a cardboard box so as you do I evesdropped a little ") . It turned out that his neighbours had done a flit in the night and a few days later he heard a squeaking and found out they had left a guinea pig behind and the guy could not look after her as they had other pets ect.
The vet said they would take it in but I was worried that they might just put him/her down as they had nowhere to take her. So I spoke to the receptionist, (she was lovely :) ) left my number and told them if she needed somewhere to go then to call me.
Got a call that afternoon and she's not too well, very thin, blood in her wee, mites and looked like she'd been left for a long time, apparently the only thing in her hutch was a tiny bit of hay in the corner 8...
BUT She's eating really well and very friendly so I'm hoping after a bit of love and attention and good food she will pick up, the vets said they will keep her in til friday to be on the safe side and if alls well, I'll go and get her then :)
I did go and have a peep later on as I popped back to get something and she is scruffy but lovely, long haired (she's had a haircut because she was mucky) and a lovely little face.
I'm looking forward to bringing her home but don't want to get my hopes up too high just in case :...

Awww well done the neighbour and you...poor wee thing, hope she pulls through. That's terrible she was just left abandoned...shocking.

Poor little thing, so glad to hear you are planning on giving her a forever home, she deserves it. Fingers crossed she will pick up and be able to go home with you. Although it sounds promising.xx>>>

How awful she was left in that state all alone, potentially to die :(

But so glad you could give her a home :) hope she pulls through ok!

God i could really hurt some people.

I think its fate that your friend asked you for a lift that day!

Good luck i hope you get her and can give her a wonderful life that she deserves, i wonder if the guy would be willing to give any details and maybe the 'owners' could be found and charged with neglect or something?

Aw, poor little baby :... How can anyone do this, we know it happens and it makes me want to :laluot_32:
Agree with doglovinpiggylover about trying to trace them but it's finding the forwarding address I suppose would be a problem. Maybe the RSPCA/Police would help...I would definitely report it. Police take this seriously so may have database info...worth a try. These idiots should be strung up and left with no food and water :o
Thank god the neighbour had the common sense to act and take it to a vet and thank god even more that you were there xoxo
Hope little one makes it and keep us posted - if only she knew what her future held, full of love and happiness, she'd battle through the odds :)
Keep us informed and sending the little one :laluot_29:

Thank goodness the neighbour heard her little wheeeeks and was king enough to take her to the vet.
Lucky little girl that you were listening, sometimes being a tad 'interested' in what others are saying pays off! ;)
I really hope she makes it and can come home to her 'special slave' on Friday.
What will you call her? rolleyes

ooh you could call her Chance, because she is getting chance of a lovely life with someone who will love her, or something easter related awwwwww like Eggy lol

I hope you know how proud everyone is of you for making that offer to rehome a little sweetheart. I'm sure the vets will take wonderful care of her as she gets back to her full health. The neighbour is a superstar as well for not leaving her there!

I hope everything goes well and you are able to bring her to a loving happy forever home x

My thoughts exactly. Hope she improves in leaps and bounds through the week so she can come home with you on Friday. Is lovely that you have offered her a home.

Hope the little one recovers soon! It's great she's going to get the perfect forever home with you.

Ooh I like the name chance :)
I'm just hoping she will be ok but the eating really well is a great sign!
I as only up at the vets with my friend because she was buying some milk for her little kitten who is only 4 weeks.
Too young really to be without her mum but she felt that the people she was getting him off were just not looking after him, it seems they were just stuffed in a box and left to it, no vets, worming or exercise. The house was filthy, there was a dog jumping everywhere and the kids are little gits too.
There may still be another kitten left so there is a possibility I may have that one too :)
Anyway when we were in there we spoke to the vets and they said to pop back in half an hour, we did and then thats when the piggy came in, it's a good job I'm nosey lol!
The vets will know the previous owners ddress but as they did a flit they may be hard to trace now, all I can do is give her a new loving home, I did say I'd stop at 2, I've 7 almost 8 now so my family is growing!
An also thank the mystery man, no idea who he was but I'm thankful he was kind enough to bring her in :)

Oh how sad she was left to die like that. :( I really hope the people who did this can be found and punished. I hope she recovers and gets to live with you.

I agree, please keep us updated on the progress of this little sweetheart. We are all hoping for the best x

It's people like you that make up for all the meanies :')

It's great that you've been able to take this little piggy in, and although your family is getting bigger and bigger, i hope that this little piggy fits in with all the others nicely !

Hope she gets better !

God people disgust me how they can just leave their so called pets pow-pow, well done for offering a forever home, cant wait to see some photos of her

I cant get my head around how some people think or don't think more to the point. Reminds me of when I found a border collie pup abandoned on the side of the road in bush land. Lovely little girl who lucked out in an owner who had no problem in dumping an inconveniance. I'm just glad there are people about who listen in, step up and step in. Good luck with her health and hoping you can bring her home soon.

You could call her Serendipity.

:x words fail me!

THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU for giving this sweet little girlie a chance (yup appropriate name if that's what you choose) at living a life where she'll know love, fresh food and all things piggie x)x)x)x)x)
