is the following pic abuse
I reckon the same. The owner probably thinks they are enjoying it as they are still. What they don't realise is why the piggies are still. They have gone into 'freeze mode' cos they are frightened. This is a basic survival instinct of a prey animal.I can’t tell what’s going on in the picture. It looks like two guineapigs being pulled around in a toy train or car. If so, I don’t know that I would call it abuse but it’s definitely not enjoyable for the guineapigs. They are most likely very stressed and confused.
I agree 100% with @Betsy and @Lady Kelly !I reckon the same. The owner probably thinks they are enjoying it as they are still. What they don't realise is why the piggies are still. They have gone into 'freeze mode' cos they are frightened. This is a basic survival instinct of a prey animal.
Agreed!Hi. On this forum we are passionate about the health, well-being and happiness of guinea pigs. So in your photo I'm afraid I'm not comfortable with what I see. I think the 2 guinea pigs will most likely be scared to be pulled around on a toy truck. It's definitely not something to be recommended. They are wonderful little animals who are very entertaining in their own right. Xx
Can you take a more clear photo? I can't really see what's going on
note : this was not me this was my 6 year old sister and I'm showing that its not right to do this
thanx for the advicePlease be aware that your sister should not be handling the pigs without adult supervision at such a young age. There is far too much risk of injury from mishandling. I think it would be wise to speak to your parents about setting ground rules for the guinea pigs to ensure their safety going forwards
