I wasn’t sure what category to put this in... anyways, I have two four year old pigs (shown in profile picture). One website says they are 100 in human years. Another says they are 60. How old are they in human years?

I have absolutely no idea sorry, but maybe someone else does. I’ve never even thought about age conversion comparisons.

I tend to calculate age like this
in human years typically most people probably hit their mid 80s
and most piggies probably will hit around 5. Therefore 5 equals around 84.

My hubby reckons about 28yrs
Sounds like he was doing 4 multiplied by 7 that people normally do for dogs and cats...that have a longer lifespan than guinea pigs.

For rabbits they say take our average life expectancy -75 years- and divide it by the average life expectancy of rabbits- 10 years. And you're left with how many human years a rabbit is 7.5 and times that by how old they are. If we use hat same logic with the guinea pigs- 75 years ÷ 7 years and times by the age of your piggies you get 42 years.

This is way to much maths for me so early in the morning, i'm gunna need another coffee :tu:
I'm going to accept that my guinea pigs are 1 in human years otherwise my tiny brain gets to confused.

i use the average life span for a piggie is 7 years.i use the analysis that each piggy year equates to 15 years !

They probably are, I never listen to my husband. Lol
I had a right giggle about this. Women are always right, right?

Thread derailment in progress...
