Well my OH dont like me having them but i say its my choice i look after them anyway so tough

Good to hear that you have sat down and talked things through, it always helps :)

All relationships have their blips, but if you have been married 18 years you are obviously both doing something right. Marriage is all about compromise and working together, also not taking each other for granted...in my opinion. I spent years totally engrossed in local animal welfare, dogs/cats/rabbits/guineas...you name it. Hubby was great and a saint, but now I do much less and devote more time to us.
Us includes the animal companions we have now and the few rescues I still help.

I love my animals, but I love my hubby too.

Barbara WELL PUT,totally agree my hubbys a darling and I adore him but equally adore my pets, fingers crossed alls sorted now

I think everything is about balance. You need to give a little and take a little in all things. I think if he starts again on your guinea pigs dont start an argument but find something that he likes doing and you let him do even though you dont like it kinda thing :)
