Rosie had bladder stones removed at the end of March all was going good until recently she started to show signs of an infection. A nice long course of septrin and metacam seemed to do the trick until about a week ago, this time she was straining and lifting her bottom while weeing, Back to the vets for more metacam and septrin. Over the weekend she was rushed to the vets and monitored and told to come back today for a further check-up. So off she goes and now she is not only straining but actually standing on tiptoes to pass urine, My daughter asks for an x-ray but was told not yet necessary but to try steroids instead. This evening Rosie is rushed back to the vets, I'm imagining the worst outcome but the brilliant vet decides to give Rosie an x-ray and unfortunately it shows stones again she has also taken a urine sample to culture. Never been offered this before. I have decided to let them operate to try and relieve the problem. To me it seems I have no choice. Unless she is peeing she is still incredibly perky and active. My way of thinking is that give her the chance but if she passes when under the G.A it would be pain free and we would have the knowledge that we have tried everything rather than have her pts without trying. x
