Can you check the white bun in the back of the store in the adoption part and complain if he is still there please :-\
He is in a very small cage and his nose is flowing a white/yellow liquid and keeps rocking sideways. His eyes are closing up too.
I told the woman at the checkout and she wasn't that bothered. She said she would get someone to check on the bun, but it wouldn't suprise me if they didn't.

Hi Sophie,

Complain to head office as well, they will act once they receive an e-mail.

Ok thanks anyway Spice and honeys mummy.
Thanks S&T. Does anyone know the head office's email?

Sorry, link didn't work properly. Thanks S&T :)

Ron, its the one in Hall Road near Mc Donalds. O0 That would be fab if you could check.

Personally I think it would be best to save your complaint until you know for sure that the rabbit wasn't taken off sale. O0

I was having to use internet explorer last night (BT wouldn't let me sign in again), so I couldn't send an email, now about it do it though.
Someone from RU is going that way tonight and he said he'll pop in and see if he's still there.

Ok, so surely it's better to wait until tonight to send the email rather than now, once you are better informed about the situation?

Yeah, if they say he is still in there, I will definately email them.

Phone the store and ask to speak to the manager. The emails often take ages to be answered which may be too late for this rabbit.

Though, conversely, often the reason it takes so long for emails to be answered is because Head Office contact the store in question and get responses from the appropriate people involved before composing a response to the customer.

So technically, by emailing Head Office, you will also be emailing the manager of the store through HO, in addition to senior managers etc.

In my opinion, this will likely make the manager do things more quickly, because they have several more senior figures watching what they are doing...

But in addition to emailing HO to make them aware that their Norwich Hall Rd staff are useless, also do as Daftscotslass has suggested and phone the store as well, to make doubly sure they get the message!

Thanks DSL and neep neep.
Someone from RU said they will see if he is still there today. If he is I will definately phone them and email them.
If he isn't, I still want to complain about the guineas being kept with the rabbits. Would they do anything about it?

Probably not straight away - the store may be due a refit at some point in the future already, so it will be a case of waiting until the store is refurbished. They probably don't have the facilities to split them and still allow them appropriate space until then.

Unless of course they DO have 4 separate runs already, in which case YES, they should do something about it! O0

They have four runs.
1 with 1 bun, 3 pigs and the other three just have guineas in.
I will be complaining then...

Good grief, how hard is it for these people to keep to protocol?!? 98)

Make sure in your email to Head Office that you point out that this particular store has 4 runs - otherwise the person on the other end might assume it still has the old-style runs with only 2!

Ok thanks for all your help!
...theres something else.
They had a giant rabbit in a fairly sized cage, but it had a problem. It's poops were in massive clumps all stuck together.
Should I complain about that as well?

I emailed head office about rabbits and pigs being kept together in my local store, and it hasnt happened since. But then I also emailed about them selling exercise balls for guinea pigs, and they PROMISED me it was all sorted, but they lied. A shop assistant tried to sell me a ball for my guinea pigs today.

I would point it out to the store specifically, rather than head office - they probably need to increase it's daily proportion of hay...they may be feeding it too many pellets or too many vegetables in a sitting?

Definitely email Head Office about that, they will likely be rather narked that their staff are blatantly ignoring memos that have been sent round.

According to the staff member, no memo ever got sent out. Personally I think P@H don't care and just lied to make me go away. I like going there for hay and toys and stuff like that, but from now on I am boycotting! I will send one last email tomorrow to tell them what happened, and then I give up. I cried to my mum about it, and she said that I have tried to do something good, but I cant save the whole world. She's right. :'(

I can tell you for sure that a memo went out ;)

Edit: It seemed to get through ok to Alison's store too - she mentioned on the original thread that the stores all got memos: Savic ball thread

My bet is that the manager of that store didn't pass it on to the staff >:(

That'll be it then. Stupid manager. I swear it upsets me so much. How can that manager have so little concern for the animals, yet be the manager of an animal shop? It should be regulated. All managers, and a high percentage of the staff should hold some sort of animal husbandry/management qualification. The punishment for running a pet shop without knowing your stuff should be life imprisonment. Pets are living things! Not toys!

Now sending an email about the guineas being housed with the rabbits.
