hi collected misty from the vets tonight she had actually torn all the ligaments in her knee i am supposed to keep her confined in a dog crate which i dont have so asked vet if i could use a guinea pig run he said as long as she can stand up in it so i now have a 6 x 4 guinea pig run in my dining room she doesent mind being in there at the moment has used litter tray and eaten some chicken she is on painkillers and has to go back next thursday to see the vet he is going to give her 3 weeks to start walking on that leg and if no improvment she might have to have an operation i am so glad to have her home will keep you postedxx>>>

She'll understand that you are trying to help her, I'm glad she's back home.

You must feel so relieved.

I've been watching this thread too, so glad she is back. Hope she is feeling better soon. x>>

Aw I'm so glad she came home and has been treated, cats can have us soooo worried! I remember one of mine went missing for a week once and hadnt ever ben gone more than a few hours before that, it was so stressful but she came in as if nothing had happened! Now she's never in! Big hugs to Misty, i hope she's feeling better soon
x

No, it's hard on her, and we can't explain to them why they need to be confined, but it's good she's eating well. I'm just so glad for you that she came home after her accident. Good luck for Thursday, and I know you'll update us then ....

How's Misty today? Was the vet happy with her progress?

hi mistys leg has not improved so she has to stay confined to guinea pig run in dining room and i have to continue to give her the metacam once a day back to vets again next thursday she is happy enough in herself though eating well and purring

Poor Misty, but it's good she's eating and purring, and no doubt otherwise being herself. And at least it's not mid summer when she might have been wanting to go and and about - these dark cold wet days she's probably content to sleep in her guinea pig run. I hope she makes good progress this next week.

have been to vets again today not much improvement on mistys leg have to go back again next week but she is happy and eating despite the fact she still has to stay in the guines pig run

I suppose it's just going to be a long period of resting the leg until it's fixed, poor little cat, but it's great she's happy and eating. Perhaps she now thinks she's an honorary guinea pig, because she's living in their run. Thank you for letting us know, I'd been wondering how she's doing. I shall look forward to your update next week.

Sorry Misty's recovery is taking longer than hoped, give her a chin scratch from me.

have been back to vets today and mistys leg has made some improvement i dont have to take her to vets now for 2 weeks still has to stay in guinea pig run though and still has to have the metacam aparently it is an anti inflamatory she is still eating well and seams happy enough i think she has even got used to being in the guinea pig run as when i lift it up to clean out her litter tray she has a little walk around the room and then gets back in good job it is winter as she tends to spend more time indoors then anyway :))

Ah bless her - she'll benefit from all the rest I'm sure.

Give her love from us all here at LB xx

It's good she's making progress, even if slower than you'd like, but the enforced rest will be strengthening her leg day by day. Please give her a kiss from me.

misty went back to vets yesterday and she is now allowed out of the guinea pig cage she has to be confined to one room though as vet says he doesent want her running up and down stairs etc she only has a slight limp now and is off the metacam back to vets again in 2 weeks :)

I'm so sorry I missed this (how?) last week, but am glad that Misty is making good progress. Having been in the guinea pig cage for so long she probably won't mind being confined to one room, because that will seem like "freedom" for her.

Glad to hear you are beginning to make some progress. I agree with Sue, Tinso will probably consider one room a "palace" compared to the piggy run!

misty has been back to vets today vet is pleased with her he says her leg is much more stable and you can bearly notice the limp she is allowed the run of the house now but is not allowed outside due to jumping fences and shed roofs back to vets hopefully last time after christmas :)

back to vets again today vet has discharged her yay she is now allowed outside vet said she will probably get artherites in that leg when she gets a bit older but for the mo i am just happy her leg made such a good recovery and she dident need to have an op in the end thank you to everyone on the forum who wrote such lovely caring messagesx>>

Oh, that is fantastic news. I am so glad that she recovered well. Now, she can get up to more mischief to keep you on your toes.
