Back legs

Hi guys, I’m ringing the vet tomorrow one of my boys isn’t right. He seems to be walking fine on his front legs but he seems to be moving his back legs together, sort of like hoping like a rabbit in a way. He can run , walk around without seeming to be in pain but he’s just walking odd, with both his back legs at the same time. Is this odd? I’ve looked online and seen something called scurvy or something along them lines, but my boy gets plenty of vitamin c. But his back legs do seem to kind of be pointing outwards when he sits down. I’m really worried ...

could be arthiritis.Or bloat. How old is he?
 
He’s only 1 year old, he’s not bloated by the looks of things but he is defiantly struggling to use his back legs and is hopping around

Doubt its arthiritis then. Hope the vet finds whats wrong
 
I’ve seen online something called scurvy , and the symptoms seem the same hopping instead of walking which he seems to be doing but I’d say he has a great vitamin c diet
 
I’m going to ring the vets first thing but I’m extremely worried about him
 
Bunny hopping can be a sign of low vit C in the diet, or poor absorption of it. A defiency can cause bleeding in the joints which makes them inflamed. Another possible cause is calcium defiency (or lack of vit D3 for the absorption of calcium) again causing joint problems.

Peppers (red) ,kale, carrots, leafy greens, cucumbers, tomatoes occasionally , he gets very high vitamin c veggies and I also feed a probiotic and he has added vitamin c in his pellets

Obviously you are better off seeing a vet. But if its calcium deficiency. Feed some kale. Your getting high calcium and high vit c. Jyst wet the kale to help avoid stones

yea in my opinion he will be absolutely fine. I would be very confident
 
Yeah thank you I’ll ring the vet as soon as it’s open at 9am and ask for an appointment and for him to be seen tomorrow
 
The most bizarre thing happened. So I gave him a shot of vitamin c last night I’ve gone into him this morning and like by magic he isn’t bunny hopping and is using his legs normally. I’m still gonna take him to the vets this morning incase he needs some pain relief and for a check over but I’m so suprised

Any impaction atall in his anal sack? Its a long shot but never know
 
Just an update the vet checked him over and checked both legs and apparently they’re is no swelling and they aren’t stiff. He pretty much showed me up at the vets and walked normal, always the case ha ha. She checked his back and said she thinks it’s that, so we have metacam and she wants him splitting from his cage mate for the mean time as his cagefriend does jump on him and mount him often as well as bum bopping so we think he may have caused it, cheeky man
 
Well that's good news. One of my girls recently sustained an injury whereby she couldn't use her back legs completely, a couple of days later on pain relief and she was back to normal!

He’s on 7 drops of metacam twice a day does that sound right ? I thought it sounded like a lot lol
 
I’ve also ordered him some natural science vitamin c hay tablets just to give him a boost :)
