It was a nice day today and, as I needed to deep clean all the hutches due to a fungal outbreak *groan*, I put all the pigs out in their runs. I'd just finished eating my lunch while the hutches dried, when I heard our cat meowing. I went to let him in, and he just kept meowing at me and turning round like he wasn't sure that he wanted to go in. He then wandered over to the door and I looked out - and Freddie was sitting in a long patch of grass munching away quite happily! He'd escaped!

Luckily, it was Freddie and not one of the girls. I sometimes let the boys run free under supervision because I know I can trust them not to run off somewhere silly, and they're easy to catch. I'd positioned the run on an uneven part of the grass, and as it was so long in that particular area, I hadn't seen the small gap that Freddie somehow managed to squeeze himself through!

Goes without saying that everytime I moved the run after than I went round all the edges to make sure there were no more escape routes! :))

Yes! Quite a surprise really as Mylo does tend to mess around with the Pigs when they're in the run!

MYLO YOU HERO !!

Oh gosh what a fright....... and very lucky you had super puss to supervise! Freddie....... you little monkey! Just shows you ..... you have to think like a piggie....... ?/

After I got over the initial shock of finding he'd escaped, I did laugh because the gap clearly wasn't big enough for Nelson :)) He's a bit chunky.

:o Oh wow, kudos to Mylo, my cat would have had poor Freddie for dinner! I guess it's the old 'the grass is always greener on the other side' thing, Freddie was probably blissfully unaware of doing anything wrong and wondering why you interrupted his munching, a typical piggle. rolleyes
