I went to feed Bailey and Gus this morning and Bailey was sat in a pile of sloppy poo and had a pooey bum.
I cleaned him up the best I could and I've taken him to the vets this morning, who has given me oral Baytril to give him twice a day. And the vet just said to cut out veg for the time being.
The vet did have a bit of optimism that he might pull through, cos Bailey is still alert. He isn't wheeking though! He's completely silent.
I've separated him from Gus for now, and he has access to hay and I've syringed him about 1ml of water.
I don't know what could have caused this. Their diet consists of spring greens, bit of carrot or celery or cucumber in a morning, excel pellets at night and fresh hay topped up 3-4 times a day. They live inside. Nothing has changed that could have stressed him that I can think of.
Help!
Is there anything else I should be doing for him right now?
