It appears that one of my new Piggies has some sort of skin condition/fungal infection.

This couldn't of happened at a worse time! I have no transport to vets until I pick my car up from the garage sometime next week and I literally live in the middle of nowhere between fields and trees and about 16 miles from my vets.

Just want some advice...
I've literally just spent over an hour disinfecting the whole set-up whilst my son napped now my question is any ideas on how to help the poor blyter for the minute?

He has patches of badness appear above his eye and on his cheek with stray hairs dotted around the patch among the dry flaky skin. I do believe it could possibly be ringworm judging by the looks of it.

I would upload a picture but at the moment my 2 year old is on a tyrade and I very much doubt he would let me have 5 minutes peace to allow for a picture without trying to get in the setup himself or trying to stroke the piggies. Other days this wouldn't be an issue but if it is ringworm, I don't fancy it spreading around the place like wildfire thanks to my boys grubby little mitts.

I will try and upload a photo come 7pm when he is put to bed.

It's gotta be the vets I am afraid. Need to find out if it is fungal or mites or something else. Treatment regimen varies depending on condition

Tagging @helen105281 she is very good with skin issues

Oh I'm 100% going to be taking him the vets, in midst of trying to arrange transport for Monday.nas my partner and family all work weekends and no public transport for me on weekends either. Make no mistake about that. I'm a responsible pet owner and wouldn't dare attempt to self medicate or what have you and always take any of my animals to the vets.

I was asking advice in reference to bathing, change of bedding etc to reduce irritation and so on.

(I'm not a complete novice lol, kept pets all my life, worked on a farm and have animal related quals)

Thanks for your replies, quick at that lol.

It does sound like Ringworm but the vet will be able to confirm when you are able to get there.

Here is our Ringworm guide which outlines the different stages of Ringworm and has lots of hygiene tips to keep you, your family and the other pigs safe.
Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

My preferred treatment for Ringworm is the oral medication Itrafungol and Imaverol dips.

Once you are able to post a photo we should have a clearer idea.
